Job DescriptionPrimary Job Title: Cybersecurity ArchitectAlternate / Related Job Titles: • Enterprise Security Architect, • Cybersecurity Solutions Architect, • Information Security Architect • Monday–Friday, • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, • Pacific TimeJob DescriptionThe Cybersecurity Architect will bridge IT, engineering, product, and cybersecurity teams to evaluate, design, and govern security solutions across enterprise cybersecurity environments, including on-premises, hybrid, SaaS, and cloud platforms.This role translates business objectives and regulatory requirements into scalable security architectures, standards, and repeatable patterns that enable secure delivery. The architect will also serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert (SME) for cybersecurity architecture and enterprise security technologies.Key Responsibilities, • Serve as a trusted cybersecurity architecture SME, aligning security solutions with strategic objectives, business outcomes, and enterprise risk posture, • Partner with business, IT, engineering, and cybersecurity stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into security architecture guidance, control objectives, and design recommendations, • Evaluate technical feasibility and architecture trade-offs to ensure solutions are scalable, practical, and standards-aligned, • Own and maintain enterprise security reference architectures, secure design patterns, and guardrails across identity, network security, endpoint/workload protection, application security, data protection, logging/monitoring, and secure remote access, • Establish and govern security architecture principles such as least privilege, defense-in-depth, secure-by-design, and segmentation, driving adoption through reviews and enablement, • Conduct architecture and design reviews; document decisions, assumptions, residual risks, and compensating controls with actionable remediation guidance, • Define measurable and testable security requirements traceable through implementation and validation (without owning delivery execution), • Collaborate with Cybersecurity Technology teams to influence product roadmaps, maturity paths, and capability improvements, • Build strong relationships with senior leaders to align security architecture engagement with business priorities, • Develop and maintain security architecture documentation and provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorshipRequired Skills & ExperienceRequired:, • 10+ years of experience in IT, information security, or cybersecurity, • Proven experience designing enterprise-scale security architectures, • Strong working knowledge of IAM, MFA, encryption, logging/monitoring, vulnerability management, endpoint/workload security, • Experience translating security requirements into actionable technical designs, • Ability to communicate complex concepts and produce clear architecture artifacts (reference architectures, standards, patterns, risk decision records)Preferred:, • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, • 3+ years of cloud cybersecurity architecture experience, • Experience architecting security for hybrid environments (on-prem, cloud, SaaS), • Familiarity with DevSecOps and secure SDLC practices, • Experience with Zero Trust, identity governance, PAM, and conditional access, • Experience defining logging and telemetry requirements and partnering with SOC/SIEM teams, • Knowledge of NIST, CIS, ISO 27001 frameworks and audit/compliance support, • Ability to influence without authority and drive adoption through practical guardrailsBenefits, • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans, • 401(k) Retirement FundAbout the CompanyOur client is a major California electric utility delivering power to millions of customers across central, coastal, and Southern California.
