Job DescriptionJob Title: Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling engine cowlings, casings, and sheet metal components for aerospace applications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will read and interpret blueprints and standard operating procedures, perform mechanical assembly using a variety of tools, and verify quality through torque settings, electrical bond checks, and dimensional measurements. The position is well-suited for individuals with hands-on assembly experience on large parts, particularly within aerospace, automotive, or similar manufacturing industries. Responsibilities • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and standard operating procedures to assemble components and parts accurately., • Assemble engine cowlings, casings, and sheet metal components according to specifications and quality standards., • Use power tools, hand tools, drills, and torque tools to complete mechanical assembly tasks safely and efficiently., • Perform basic quality verification, including torque checks, electrical bond checks, and dimensional measurements., • Work with large parts and assemblies, ensuring correct fit, alignment, and secure fastening of all components., • Apply an understanding of aerospace specifications and, when applicable, Honeywell-specific requirements., • Follow lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices in daily work., • Collaborate closely with a tight-knit team to meet production targets and project deadlines., • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and maintaining a safe work area., • Document work as required and communicate any issues, defects, or process improvements to the appropriate team members.Essential Skills, • 2–3 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment., • 2+ years of experience working in an aerospace or manufacturing environment preferred., • Proficiency in mechanical assembly using power tools, hand tools, drills, and torque tools., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and standard operating procedures., • Experience working with large parts and assemblies., • Basic knowledge of quality verification practices, including torque settings, electrical bond checks, and dimensional measurements., • Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes; familiarity with engine or structural components is highly preferred., • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work to precise specifications., • Strong commitment to following health and safety guidelines.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in an aerospace environment is highly preferred, including work on commercial or military aircraft engines., • Background in automotive or other manufacturing industries is acceptable and considered valuable., • Understanding of Honeywell specifications is a strong plus., • Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles., • Experience gained in structured environments such as air force, army, or marines is beneficial., • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, tight-knit environment., • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in an aerospace manufacturing facility located near a major airport, working on-site within a production environment dedicated to engine cowlings and sheet metal assemblies. The workplace follows lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles, emphasizing efficiency, organization, and quality. You will work closely with a tight-knit, team-focused group that supports collaboration and mutual assistance on the production floor. The role involves regular use of power tools, hand tools, drills, and torque tools around large parts and assemblies. One opening is available on the 2nd shift, with typical hours from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The environment is safety-focused, and adherence to all health and safety guidelines, including appropriate attire and use of personal protective equipment, is required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
