Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW The Physician Assistant will work closely with Dr. Hunt to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care to patients in both the clinic and the operating room. This is a unique opportunity to expand your skills into advanced neuromuscular therapy through NeuFit treatment training, positioning you at the forefront of orthopadic intervention. Clinical Duties • Evaluate and manage orthopaedic and musculoskeletal patients in outpatient clinic settings, • Obtain comprehensive patient histories, perform physical examinations, and develop individualized treatment plans, • Order and interpret diagnostic imaging, labs, and other studies, • Perform joint injections, aspirations, and other in-office procedures under physician supervision, • Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care and documentation, • Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, treatment options, and recovery protocols, • Serve as first assist in orthopaedic surgical procedures alongside Dr. Hunt, • Provide intraoperative support including tissue handling, retraction, wound closure, and hemostasis, • Prepare patients for surgery, ensure proper positioning, and assist with pre-operative time-outs, • Write post-operative orders, manage immediate post-surgical care, and communicate with surgical teams, • Undergo comprehensive, hands-on training in the NeuFit neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) system, • Learn to administer and supervise NeuFit protocols for muscle re-education, pain reduction, and accelerated recovery, • Apply NeuFit therapy to appropriate clinic patients as an adjunct to traditional orthopedic care, • Collaborate with the care team to integrate NeuFit outcomes into overall patient treatment plans, • Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records and documentation in compliance with practice standards, • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team, • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and practice growth efforts, • Mentor and collaborate with support staff to ensure a smooth, patient-centered experience QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Required • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program, • Current NCCPA certification (PA-C), • Active Kentucky Physician Assistant license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date), • DEA registration or ability to obtain, • Current BLS/ACLS certification, • Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, orthopaedic conditions, and clinical assessment, • Experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, or surgical assisting, • Prior first-assist surgical experience, • Familiarity with neuromuscular rehabilitation or electrical stimulation therapies, • Competitive salary commensurate with experience, • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, • Paid time off and CME allowance, • Full NeuFit training and certification support, • Collaborative, supportive team environment with direct mentorship from Dr. Hunt, • Opportunity to build a diverse, advanced clinical skill set in a growing practice Interested candidates should submit the following to our practice: • Current CV/resume, • Cover letter describing your interest in orthopedics and/or the NeuFit treatment program, • Three professional references
