Objective/Purpose The Superintendent/QC/SSHO Level 3 will manage the more complex and logistically challenging projects for Client. This role oversees the total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the project documents, budget, schedule, and to the satisfaction of the client. It is expected that this individual will effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. The Level 3 Superintendent/QC/SSHO is responsible for the overall safety and quality of the project and may supervise Level 2 and/or Level 1 Superintendents/QC/SSHO. Roles/Responsibilities -Manages complex and logistically challenging projects -Oversees total construction effort -Responsible for ensuring that a safe workplace remains the top priority by supporting policies, procedures, and practices. Educate team members on and ensure jobsite safety is meeting or exceeding OSHA regulations/EM385 regulations and STI’s Safety Program. -Manage multiple job projects with a client campus -Maintain client relationships -Plan and establish the flow of work activities -Monitor and update the project schedule to take advantage of opportunities that will reduce the critical path -Arrange for and schedule inspections by government officials -Coordinate all field activities -Plan and set up an efficient jobsite layout -Maintain a clean and orderly project -Conduct weekly subtrade meetings to plan, organize, and control the assigned project -Maintain daily logs to document all jobsite activities and events -Implement and maintain all quality control programs and life safety checkout procedures -Verify materials arriving onsite match approved submittals -Maintain a working relationship with Trade Partners -Review monthly billings and projections with the Project Manager and take action to effectively manage job costs. -Proactive approach in identifying and solving field issues with subcontractors and/or project documents -Enforce the STI Drug, Alcohol, and Harassment policies -Educate Team members on ICRA protocols and ensure ICRA standards are properly implemented -Is a mentor to other field managers and helps train, lead, and encourage both Field managers 1 and Field Managers 2. Skills Required -10-15 years of experience autonomously managing successful construction project -OSHA 30 Hour -Ability to read, analyze & interpret federal contract documents, federal safety rules (including EM385), operating & maintenance instructions, & procedure manuals -Strong written and verbal communication skills -Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team -Proven to be a strong leader -Constant standing and walking, 66% or more -Frequent sitting 34% or more -Proficient in Microsoft Office -First Aid/CPR Certified Skills Preferred -Preferably, a degree in Building Science, Construction Management or Civil Engineering -10-15 years of construction experience specializing in the federal and/or healthcare sector -Proficient in Procore -Understanding of P6 scheduling Mental Qualifications • Able to learn new tasks, • Able to maintain focus, • Able to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision, • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and written, • Able to interact with a variety of individuals, • Able to understand, remember, and follow verbal and written instructions, • Able to perform in situations requiring speed, deadlines, or productivity quotas, • Able to maintain regular attendance and be punctual, • Have strong reading comprehension, • Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned Physical Qualifications • Able to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps. etc., • Able to utilize construction personnel hoists, • Able to navigate work areas that are under construction, • Specific vision abilities required for this job include vision, peripheral, depth perception, and focus, • Repeating motions that may include wrist, hands, and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls • Operate machinery and/or power tools, • Operate motor vehicle or heavy equipment, • Communicate with others to exchange information, • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing for long periods of time, • Ability to climb, maintain balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, • Light to medium work that includes moving objects between 20-50 pounds Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud. The proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be required when exposed to the above conditions in accordance with OSHA and EM-285 safety provisions. Terms and Conditions Exemption Status: Exempt This is a full-time salary position. Travel is required within the United States; primarily Kentucky, Tennessee and North Carolina. This role is job site based. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours, but there are occasions where weekend/night work is required due to contract requirements and/or logistical reasons.
