Job DescriptionDescription: Hybrid 50% on site, requires local candidates able to work physically in Merrimack, NH We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join a Production / Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team within a large financial services environment. This role focuses on production stability, incident management, batch and application support, and operational excellence for systems. The role provides level 2 application and batch support and in this position will require you to troubleshoot incidents, drive root cause analysis, and support resilient cloud and on-prem platforms with strong focus on observability, automation, and reliability. ***This position operates in a fast paced environment with on-call coverage. We ar high‑energy, and highly collaborative, this is an environment where reliability and responsiveness are essential. The role offers exposure to core financial systems and modern cloud‑based infrastructure supporting mission‑critical business functions. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $55.00 to $60.00/hr. w2 Responsibilities:Production Support & Incident Management • Provide Level 2 production support for applications (≈70%) and batch processing (≈30%), • Assess business impact of incidents through direct customer and stakeholder interaction, • Troubleshoot and resolve application, batch, and data‑related issues using application tools and databases, • Respond to system alerts, business queries, and data quality issues with urgency and precision, • Provide prompt support for main operational systems INCLUDING when needed for on call weeksReliability, Automation & Continuous Improvement, • Analyze code (PL/SQL, Perl, Shell scripts) to troubleshoot issues and propose long‑term solutions, • Write and enhance PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages, • Partner with development teams to coordinate fixes and promote changes into production, • Review existing platforms and recommend improvements in:, • Automation, • CI/CD practices, • Security, • Observability and platform services, • Contribute to scalability, resiliency, and operational stability of distributed systemsCloud, Observability & Infrastructure, • Support and operate highly resilient AWS cloud environments, • Work with containerized workloads, ideally using Kubernetes, • Leverage modern monitoring and observability tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, and Splunk, • Support systems managed via Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Chef, IAM, ARM, etc.), • Maintain high availability in complex, distributed, multi‑tier architecturesTeam & Operational Responsibilities, • Participate in an on‑call rotation, including limited weekend support, • Collaborate with a globally distributed team in a follow‑the‑sun support model, • Mentor and support other team members through knowledge sharing and technical leadership Experience Requirements: • 10+ years supporting or deploying highly distributed, multi‑tier systems at scale, • 4+ years of hands‑on AWS cloud support and migration experience, • Strong experience with Linux, networking fundamentals, and ITSM‑based operational standards, • Extensive experience with Oracle databases and PL/SQL, • Proven ability to analyze and support batch scheduling systems (Autosys experience is a plus) Role also requires experience with: • Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms, • Distributed, highly concurrent service‑based systems, • Scripting and automation (Python, Shell, etc.), • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, • Monitoring, logging, and alerting at scale Education Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience required., • Master’s degree preferred.
