Supported by a strong order book, long-term framework agreements, and a range of specialist divisions, the company continues to experience sustained growth across multiple sectors.\n\nAs a result of continued expansion and increasing project workload, they are seeking 2 Quantity Surveyors to join their commercial team based in Bolton.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of civil engineering projects from inception through to final account. Working closely with operational teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, you will help ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong commercial controls throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nAs Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:\n\nManaging project costs and commercial performance across multiple civil engineering projects.\nPreparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.\nProcuring and managing subcontractor packages.\nReviewing and negotiating subcontract agreements.\nIdentifying, pricing, and managing variations and compensation events.\nMonitoring project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.\nPreparing monthly cost value reconciliations and commercial reports.\nSupporting project teams with commercial advice and guidance.\nManaging contractual correspondence and maintaining project records.\nBuilding and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.\nAssisting with risk management and identifying opportunities to improve project profitability.\n\nThe Ideal Candidate\n\nThe successful Quantity Surveyor will have:\n\nPrevious experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, highways, water, or related sectors.\nGood understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management principles.\nExperience managing subcontractor procurement and accounts.\nStrong financial and commercial acumen.\nExcellent negotiation and communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting systems.\nRelevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.\nFull UK driving licence.\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nBasic salary of £50,000 - £75,000 depending on experience.\nCompany car or car allowance.\nAnnual bonus scheme.\nPension contribution.\nPrivate healthcare.\nLife assurance.\nGenerous annual leave entitlement.\nOngoing training and professional development opportunities.\nClear career progression within a growing and successful business.\nOpportunity to work on major infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the UK.\nSecure long-term employment with a business generating turnover in excess of £100 million.\nApply: If you're interested in this opportunity, then please get in touch today with our Commercial Specialist, Mark Harris. \n\nBuilding Careers UK specialises in Construction and Property recruitment and serves as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
