Braintree Vets for Pets are looking for a Vet to join their friendly, experienced, and supportive team on a full or part-time basis. Attention to detail and providing high quality care is what we’re about and one thing our current team and locums often comment on is our organisation- we work well together. We aim to provide a working environment where everyone can work to their potential and utilise all the skills they bring to the team. We’re also open to change and welcome input from our team to make sure we’re doing things in the best way possible. Close communication between our JVP and Lead Vet Samantha, Head RVN, and Practice Manager means that if you raise an idea, we’ll listen. We are an in-store practice located on a retail park and have a separate branch in nearby Maldon run by the same JVP. Whilst the two practices operate separately day to day, we do work together to ensure consistent clinical governance and level of care. Being based on a retail park has lots of advantages- as well as great amenities we are close to a designer outlet and plenty of eateries meaning there are lots of options for getting out of the practice at lunch. Braintree itself is based in Essex and is a market town that offers a great balance between beautiful rolling countryside and city life. Food markets, vineyards, breweries, cafés, and a castle complete with jousting nights are just some of what our area has to offer. Our location also makes us well connected transport wise being just 1 hour from London by train and having 2 airports within a 40-minute drive and a ferry port on our coast. We are looking for an experienced vet who has a keen interest in surgery and open to a wide and busy caseload. We will support CPD in any clinical area you are interested in, and the position does have the scope for career progression to a Head/Lead role up to Clinical Director. Our caseload presents the great variety you would expect from general practice, and our new Vet would get good exposure to surgeries. We also welcome peri-paretic orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeons for our more complex cases as well as a cardiologist who are happy to support our team should they have an interest in their area of specialism. Our standard consults are 15 minutes, and these are extended for emergencies and certain presentations as we like to give our Vets the time to work up cases as they require. Attention to detail and excellent levels of client care are important to us. We also book administration time in and have additional ‘on the day’ appointments factored into our diary every day. This allows enough flexibility in our diary to allow us to accommodate for the ‘unknowns’ of practice. This is a full-time role but we are also happy to speak to anyone looking for part-time hours or a job-share type arrangement. Our weekend rota is 1 in 4 (Saturday 9-6pm and Sunday 10.30-4.30pm) and this is the only sole charge you would be required to work. Full time includes working 3-4 days/week and while we would prefer someone who can work full days are happy to discuss any other working patterns at interview. We offer a salary of up to £100K (FTE) which is negotiable depending on experience (pro rata) in addition to an excellent benefit package including but not limited to: • Paid RCVS, BVA and VDS memberships, • Generous CPD allowance, • Discounts across the Pets group, • Exclusive discounts through multiple retailers as part of our Reward Hub, • 5.6 weeks holiday per year, increasing to 6.6 weeks after 2 years services, • Visa sponsorship If you'd like any further information about this vacancy, the practice or our company please contact our Talent Acquisition team via email; for an informal and confidential conversation. Or, contact Nikki Baker – Practice Manager via email; or via telephone; . Location: CM77 8YJ We are on Equal Opportunities Employer! We take our inspiration from pets in embracing people from all walks of life, and we value, respect and celebrate difference. We encourage our people to be their best selves so that we can create a better world for Pets, our Planet, and People. Our ambition is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and we are intentional in addressing and removing barriers to create opportunities for the exceptional talent and potential in our communities. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you! #J-18808-Ljbffr
