Audit & Risk Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a top 10 UK accountancy firm that specialises in supporting small to mid-sized businesses across a diverse range of industries. They’re now looking for an experienced Audit Senior to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone ready to take on more responsibility, drive audit quality, manage client relationships, and lead audit teams — all while continuing to develop professionally in a supportive and technically excellent environment. The Role – What You’ll Be Doing: • Leading audits from planning through to completion, including risk assessment and the design of audit procedures tailored to engagement-specific risks., • Managing budgets and job progress, flagging any overruns or additional services required and communicating effectively with managers and clients., • Reviewing and preparing statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS, with a strong grasp of complex or non-standard transactions and their audit implications., • Leading internal planning, progress, and close meetings, ensuring critical issues are addressed and clearly understood by the team., • Supervising audit fieldwork and ensuring testing is thorough, efficient, and continually improved through lessons learned and points forward., • Supporting workflow management and flexible team resourcing based on deadlines and client needs., • Mentoring and developing junior team members, providing technical guidance, feedback, and hands-on support to strengthen their growth. What They’re Looking For: • ACA / ACCA / CA qualified (or equivalent)., • Solid experience in audit across a range of sectors, with a proven ability to manage audits independently., • Strong understanding of audit and accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS), including experience with group audits and unusual or complex transactions., • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
