Job Title: Site Manager - Passive FireLocation: SurreySalary: >£50,000 + Package \n We are pleased to be working with a leading specialist manufacturer & contractor in passive fire protection, delivering high-quality fire stopping, fire doors, and compartmentation works across a wide range of sectors including residential, healthcare, education, and commercial projects. With a strong reputation for safety, compliance, and excellence, they pride themselves on their commitment to protecting lives and property through superior workmanship. \n Duties/Responsibilities: \n\n • Manage multiple passive fire protection (PFP) projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification.\n, • Supervise and coordinate daily site activities for fire safety and remedial works (FRA projects).\n, • Oversee both direct labour teams and subcontractors, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance.\n, • Oversee the installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire doors, fire stopping, compartmentation, and containment works.\n, • Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and quality/safety checks.\n, • Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and photographic evidence using digital tools.\n, • Liaise with clients, residents, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery in live social housing environments.\n, • Ensure compliance with all fire safety regulations, company procedures, and relevant standards (BS EN 1634, BS 8214, BS 9999).\n, • Maintain strong commercial awareness-monitoring budgets, costs, and project profitability.\n, • Act as the key point of site contact for clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.\n, • Produce and manage project documentation, programmes, and progress reports.\n, • Implement and monitor quality assurance processes, including Property Quality Plans (PQP) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), to ensure first-pass compliance and regulator-ready audit trails.\n, • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process efficiencies, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or compliance.\n, • Ensure subcontractors and operatives are suitably qualified, trained, and using accredited materials and products.\n, • Conduct site inspections, monitor defect resolution, and ensure all installations are recorded and traceable via Shellen's digital systems (Golden Thread).\n, • Liaise with design teams, clients, and third-party auditors to resolve technical issues and maintain programme momentum.\n, • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, and excellence across all project teams.\n\n \n Experience: \n\n • Proven experience as a Site Manager within the fire protection, construction, or fire & security industries.\n, • Relevant Trade / PFP Qualifications and Certifications\n, • Desirable to have recent experience of working in the Social Housing sector.\n, • Strong understanding of fire-stopping, fire doors, compartmentation, and containment.\n, • Experience managing large-scale projects (£2-4 million).\n, • Sound knowledge of fire regulations, FRA requirements, and passive fire protection systems.\n, • Experience managing direct labour, agency and sub-contractors.\n, • Excellent communication and organisational skills.\n, • Stakeholder engagement\n, • Commercially aware with the ability to manage budgets and contractual obligations.\n, • Desirable to have a carpentry background, ideally with hands-on experience in fire door installation or remedial works.\n, • Confident using IT systems, digital reporting tools, and mobile site applications.\n, • Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).\n\n \n Salary and Benefits: \n\n • Company vehicle, laptop and mobile phone.\n, • Annual holiday allowance of 21 days plus Bank Holidays\n, • Rising with an additional day for each year of service (to a maximum of 3 additional days)\n, • Pension plan\n, • Inclusion to company fun days\n
