Job Title: Electrical Project Engineer Location: Weybridge Employer: Tier 1 Contractor Salary & Benefits Salary: Up to £68,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Car Allowance: £5,900 per annum Pension: 11.5% employer contribution 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays Career progression on high-profile government and life sciences projects Role Overview A Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of electrical works on a high-profile animal health and research facility in Weybridge. This is a site-based role with responsibility for managing electrical packages, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring the safe, timely, and high-quality delivery of works from design coordination through to installation, commissioning, and handover. The role sits below Construction Manager level but carries significant responsibility for day-to-day electrical project delivery within a technically complex and regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Electrical Delivery • Manage allocated electrical packages on site, • Support design coordination and resolve technical queries, • Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities, • Coordinate electrical works with mechanical, civil, and commissioning teams, • Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and programme Programme & Commercial Support • Assist with programme planning, short-term lookaheads, and sequencing, • Support cost control, forecasting, and change management, • Review subcontractor progress, applications, and variations, • Identify risks and opportunities related to electrical works Health, Safety & Quality • Ensure electrical activities comply with CDM regulations and site standards, • Review and implement RAMS and safe systems of work, • Carry out inspections to ensure quality and specification compliance, • Support commissioning, snagging, and handover documentation Stakeholder & Team Coordination • Act as a key point of contact for electrical subcontractors, • Support the Electrical Lead / Construction Manager, • Attend coordination, progress, and technical meetings, • Build effective working relationships with the supply chain and project team About You Essential • Experience delivering electrical packages within construction or infrastructure projects, • Strong electrical engineering or building services background, • Experience working on live construction sites, • SMSTS or SSSTS (or working towards), • Electrical qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent experience) Desirable • Experience working with a Tier 1 contractor, • Experience on government, healthcare, or laboratory/life sciences projects, • Knowledge of NEC or similar forms of contract, • Chartered or working towards chartership (IET / CIBSE)
