As we prepare for major growth in 2026 and beyond, we are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development & Sales Manager to lead revenue generation, build strategic partnerships, and drive the expansion of private events, group bookings, and corporate relationships across our venues. This senior role will take ownership of sales performance, manage key accounts, lead client experiences such as showrounds and networking events, and work closely with leadership to grow the influence and commercial strength of the full venue portfolio. Role Summary Position: Business Development & Sales Manager Location: Glasgow City Centre Hours: 45 hours per week (flexible schedule with occasional evening/weekend event hosting) Salary: from £40,000+ per annum (DOE) + performance-based bonus Key Focus: Driving new business, growing private hire & corporate event revenue, managing key accounts, and elevating brand presence through client engagement and strategic sales initiatives. Key Responsibilities Business development & revenue growth • Identify, build, and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, agencies, planners, and high-value groups., • Proactively secure new opportunities for private dining, large group bookings, venue hire, and brand/corporate events., • Conduct market research to identify new business pipelines and emerging opportunities in Glasgow’s hospitality landscape., • Create and deliver compelling sales strategies to achieve revenue targets across all venues., • Assist Head of Sales, PR & Comms with key business tasks and projects Client showrounds & experience management • Lead personalised client showrounds across all venues, ensuring every visit reflects the premium standard of The Superlative Collection for all enquiries over 40 guests., • Tailor each showround to client needs, showcasing capabilities, packages, spaces, and operational potential., • Follow up promptly and professionally, moving prospects through the sales pipeline with confidence., • Ensure all showround notes, preferences, and client details are captured clearly and communicated internally. Networking, events & brand representation • Host and coordinate networking events, client showcases, launch evenings, and familiarisation events (FAM trips) to drive business engagement., • Represent The Superlative Collection at external industry events, corporate gatherings, and hospitality networking opportunities., • Build strong brand presence through community engagement, partnerships, and attendance at relevant trade or industry functions. Sales performance & pipeline management • Manage the full sales journey from lead generation to proposal, negotiation, contracting, and closing., • Prepare polished proposals, pitches, and presentations tailored to each opportunity., • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide clear forecasting and reporting on revenue projections., • Consistently meet or exceed revenue targets and KPIs. Key account management • Serve as primary contact for high-value clients and recurring corporate partners., • Conduct regular check-ins, nurture long-term relationships, and maximise repeat business., • Ensure all client expectations, requirements, and event briefs are meticulously captured and communicated internally. Event & booking coordination (senior oversight) • Oversee delivery of major events and venue takeovers, ensuring seamless communication between clients and venue teams., • Work closely with operations and management in each venue in the portfolio to align event logistics with client requirements., • Attend and support key events where senior representation is required. Team leadership & internal collaboration • Support, mentor, and help develop junior sales team members as the department grows., • Collaborate with the Head of Sales, PR & Comms on campaigns, promotions, launches, and sales-driven initiatives., • Provide valuable input on packages, pricing strategies, and improvements to the sales function.
