About the job We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and values-driven Speech & Language Therapist to join our leadership team as Clinical Services Lead within our growing, well-established independent Speech & Language Therapy service. This is a senior leadership role for an SLT who wants to make a meaningful difference, not only to clients and families, but to teams, services, and the future direction of high-quality private practice. This role offers a balance of 50% clinical practice and 50% leadership and management, making it ideal for an SLT who is passionate about remaining clinically active while also leading people, shaping services, and contributing to strategic growth. As a senior leader, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our clinical services remain outstanding, sustainable, and aligned with our values. You will work closely with the Managing Directors and wider leadership team to support quality, consistency, innovation, and impact across the service. The Role In this role, you will: • Maintain a clinical caseload appropriate to your seniority, remaining clinically current, credible, and client-focused, • Provide strong clinical leadership, supporting complex clinical decision-making and quality assurance across the service, • Lead, manage, and support managers and senior clinicians, holding them accountable for performance, KPIs, and service delivery, • Oversee service delivery, productivity, and operational effectiveness, balancing clinical excellence with financial sustainability, • Contribute to workforce planning, recruitment decisions, and service development, • Use data (KPIs, waiting lists, productivity) to inform strategic and operational decisions, • Promote staff wellbeing, professional development, and a positive, high-performing culture, • Play an active role in shaping the future direction and growth of the serviceClinical Practice, • Deliver high-quality Speech & Language Therapy assessment and intervention in line with HCPC and RCSLT standards, • Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and uphold excellent documentation and reporting standards, • Support complex cases and provide clinical guidance to therapists, line managers, and senior staff, • Contribute to clinical audits, service evaluation, and continuous quality improvement, • Model best practice in safeguarding, consent, risk management, and professional conductManagement & Leadership, • Provide visible, values-led leadership across the service, • Line manage and support managers and senior clinicians, ensuring accountability, development, and psychological safety, • Drive productivity, efficiency, and quality across teams, • Lead or contribute to performance management, sickness management, disciplinary, and grievance processes in line with policy, • Oversee training and development planning, identifying both internal and external learning opportunities, • Support recruitment, onboarding, induction, and retention of staff, • Contribute to strategic planning around service growth, waiting lists, and future provisionWhat We’re Looking ForEssential, • HCPC-registered Speech & Language Therapist, • Significant post-qualification clinical experience (up to Consultant level), • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a leadership, management, or senior clinical role with management responsibilities, • Strong understanding of service delivery, productivity, and KPIs, • Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills, • Experience in service development, • Confidence managing complexity, competing priorities, and difficult conversationsDesirable, • Experience in an independent or commissioned therapy service, • Experience managing managers or senior clinicians, • Financial awareness and experience contributing to service planning and budgetsWhy Join Us?, • A genuinely balanced senior role combining clinical practice with leadership, • Opportunity to lead, influence, and shape a respected and growing SLT service, • A values-driven organisation committed to gold-standard care and staff wellbeing, • Space to develop senior leadership skills while remaining clinically active, • Collaborative leadership team with a clear, ambitious strategic direction, • Competitive salary and company benefits
