Electus is supporting a leading UK aviation consultancy as they seek to appoint a Head of Airspace Services. The organisation provides specialist technical and engineering support across safety critical and highly regulated civil and military aviation projects. Their teams work across airspace design, ATM system integration, IFP design, safeguarding, regulatory support and airport development. About the Role This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for business growth, technical excellence and strategic industry engagement. The Head of Airspace Services will lead a well-established consulting capability focused on airspace, ATM and airport operations. You will oversee technical delivery, develop long term strategy and act as the key point of engagement for clients across the UK aviation ecosystem. You will work closely with airport operators, ANSPs, regulators and technology partners to deliver programmes that enhance safety, efficiency and capacity. Responsibilities • Strategic Leadership and Growth, • Develop and implement the long-term strategy for airspace and ATM services, • Lead business development, client engagement and major bids, • Manage P&L performance, resource planning and operational efficiency, • Identify cross-practice opportunities to strengthen service offerings, • Team Leadership and Delivery, • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary aviation specialists, • Oversee recruitment, workforce planning and capability development, • Ensure consistent methodologies, delivery standards and quality assurance, • Technical Oversight, • Provide technical direction for airspace design, ATM system integration, CNS procurement and airport capacity programmes, • Oversee IFP design assurance, ensuring compliance with ICAO and UK regulatory standards, • Maintain robust quality assurance processes for all deliverables, • Regulatory and Industry Engagement, • Maintain expert understanding of ICAO, IATA and UK airspace regulatory frameworks, • Represent the consultancy at industry events, forums and regulatory meetings, • Build and strengthen relationships with airports, ANSPs and infrastructure partners Qualifications • Degree level education or equivalent experience, • Relevant professional accreditations or approvals are an advantage Required Skills • Strong commercial experience in the UK aviation or airspace sector, • Proven success winning and delivering consultancy projects, • Deep understanding of UK airspace regulation and airport operator needs, • Experience leading senior technical staff in a matrix environment, • Confident influencing senior stakeholders across airports and regulatory bodies, • Strategic thinker able to shape services and long-term plans, • Clear communicator with strong commercial and contractual awareness, • Highly organised with the ability to oversee multiple concurrent programmes Bens: • profit share based on Group performance, • 25 days holiday buy and sell options, • Pension is 3% Employee 7% Employer (10% total) s, • Life assurance 4X annual salary, • Private Health This is a permanent role.
