You will need an understanding of the changes that dementia can have both on a person’s abilities and needs; how to find strategies to best support them; and to then support the team with making the relevant changes to care planning. You will need strong communication, coaching and interpersonal skills and feel confident with supporting the team, delivering training workshops and demonstrating how to put newfound knowledge and skills into practice. A level 3 vocational qualification in Health and Social Care is preferred.
