TERMS AND CONDITIONS Working Conditions Details Department Fibre Reports to Project Manager Hours of Work Monday-Friday 08:30 – 17:00 Rate of Pay £35,000 – £40,000 p/a Work Location Newport Travel Requirements No regular travel required Holiday Entitlements 33 days including Bank Holidays Benefits Standard Benefits Package KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist in the coordination of all aspects of fibre optic network projects from initiation to completion, including scheduling, resource planning, and task allocation., • Act as a liaison between project managers, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure consistent communication and alignment of project objectives., • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date project documentation including project plans, progress reports, and change controls., • Support quality assurance activities, ensuring that work carried out meets required standards and client expectations., • Ensure all workforce accreditation requirements for Openreach, local councils, and MJ Quinn are met and maintained, in line with MJQ Training School guidance., • Assist in the identification of project risks and challenges, supporting the development of mitigation strategies to reduce impact on delivery., • Support budget monitoring activities, tracking costs and contributing to identifying potential savings or efficiencies., • Conduct site visits as required to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards., • Provide support to operational teams, including training coordination, task prioritisation, and performance monitoring., • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, systems, and ways of working. PERSON SPECIFICATION • Strong telecommunications background, ideally with field‑based experience., • Knowledge of fibre optic network infrastructure and relevant industry standards (desirable)., • Previous experience in project coordination or assistant project management, ideally within telecoms., • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment., • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with stakeholders at all levels., • Proficiency in project management tools and the Microsoft Office Suite., • Demonstrates a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement., • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage expectations., • Adaptable and flexible in approach to evolving business needs.
