Assistant Project Manager - Roadside Technology Toddington - LU5 6HP Our client, Ringway, a trusted provider of highways services to the public sector, is seeking a proactive and technically minded Assistant Project Manager (Roadside Technology). In this role, you will support the delivery of technology maintenance across their highways network. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving roadside technology infrastructure that keeps our roads safe, efficient, and reliable. Working closely with the Project Manager - Roadside Technology, you will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of reactive and cyclical maintenance programmes, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The role will involve regular travel to sites and depots, liaising with internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners to deliver exceptional service. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of reactive and cyclical maintenance of roadside technology assets, including CCTV, message signs, ANPR, MIDAS, and other network equipment., • Support the Project Manager in ensuring technology defects are rectified and maintenance programmes are delivered within agreed timeframes., • Help ensure all technology works are commissioned, tested, and certified to the correct standards and quality levels., • Liaise with supply chain partners and contractors to facilitate timely and efficient delivery of works., • Monitor and report on Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality compliance, including subcontractor competency and adherence to sector schemes., • Conduct site visits and audits of completed works, providing reports and feedback on performance and condition., • Communicate progress, issues, and outcomes to key stakeholders and clients, maintaining clear and professional lines of communication. Person Specification • Strong working knowledge of National Highways motorway technology equipment and systems., • Experience managing or supporting large projects within highways, electrical, or similar technical fields., • Strong electrical background; conversant with BS7671 (18th Edition) and relevant electrical inspection schemes (e.g. NICEIC)., • Understanding of Highways Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS – Sector 8) requirements., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and colleagues at all levels., • Demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality delivery., • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
