Everyone plays an important part in the business, and we are looking for people who take pride in what they do and want to become part of the Axe & Ember team.About the RoleWe are looking for confident, friendly and hardworking Front of House (FOH) Team Members to join our team.Our FOH team is the face of the restaurant and plays a major part in creating the Axe & Ember experience. From welcoming guests to checking on tables throughout their meal, we expect genuine, attentive hospitality.This is a hands-on role. We are looking for people who are proactive, comfortable working at pace and willing to help wherever required. We’re looking for someone with previous experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Key Responsibilities • Welcome every customer warmly and professionally., • Seat guests and explain how the restaurant and ordering process works., • Works well under pressure in a fast paced environment., • Have excellent knowledge of the menu, including our smoked meats, sides, sauces, allergens and portion options., • Confidently explain our low & slow BBQ concept and help customers choose dishes where required., • Check on tables regularly throughout their visit rather than waiting for customers to ask for assistance., • Clear, clean and reset tables quickly and to a high standard., • Deliver food and drinks accurately to the correct tables., • Ensure customers have cutlery, napkins, sauces and everything required for their meal., • Communicate clearly with the kitchen and other FOH team members., • Deal professionally with customer questions, requests and concerns., • Escalate complaints or significant issues to management immediately., • Maintain excellent cleanliness throughout the restaurant, including tables, floors, service areas and customer-facing spaces., • Complete opening and closing duties as required., • Help maintain a smooth flow of service during busy periods., • Follow all food hygiene, allergen, health & safety and restaurant procedures., • Assist other members of the team whenever required. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, but attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are equally important.Menu & Allergen KnowledgeAll FOH staff are expected to develop strong knowledge of our menu.You should never guess when answering a customer’s question regarding allergens or dietary requirements. If you are unsure, you must check with the appropriate member of management or kitchen team before giving the customer an answer.TeamworkAs a family-run business, teamwork is extremely important to us. We operate as one team and expect everyone to support each other.Although your primary position may be Front of House, everyone is expected to support the wider operation when necessary. During busy periods, this may mean running food, clearing tables, cleaning, restocking or helping another team member without having to be asked.If you see something that needs doing, take ownership of it. Working HoursThe hours of work for this position will be during the restaurant’s opening hours:Wednesday & Thursday: 5:00pm – 10:00pmFriday & Saturday: 4:00pm – 11:00pmSunday: 4:00pm – 9:00pmApplicants should be available to work across these hours, including evenings and weekends.
