About the Role A Territory Manager is expected to proactively drive sales growth across the North of the UK using their excellent communication skills, strong organisation and build collaborative relationships. The individual should be highly motivated to meet and exceed targets, well organised, structured, skilled at managing time effectively, a team player and able to deliver under pressure. They should also be well versed/capable of learning how to use virtual sales meeting tools, office-based computer packages (especially Excel) with previous experience/ability of use and report on Sales Force and revenue data. They must be able to discuss complex scientific workflows relevant to Takara’s portfolio, utilising their experiences in life sciences to present Takara’s products and understand whether our solutions are relevant for a customer. Responsibilities • Responsible for driving sales of the company’s products across Key Academic, Hospital, Pharma, Biotech, and Government accounts, while consistently delivering a high level of personal service to customers., • Achieve and exceed sales targets by maintaining existing business, growing sales within current accounts, and developing new customer relationships., • Prospect, map, and prioritize new accounts and customers, identifying opportunities for new product launches and cross-selling., • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge of Takara products and effectively position them against competitors., • Implement and execute corporate sales and marketing strategies, applying effective selling techniques, value propositions, and closing strategies., • Maintain Salesforce (CRM) by accurately updating opportunities, customer interactions, and key account information to ensure a clear and reliable pipeline for forecasting and tactical planning., • Communicate potential opportunities to the Sales Team and Product Managers through timely, accurate Salesforce updates., • Provide timely communication, quotations, and follow-up to customers, ensuring expectations are consistently met or exceeded., • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers, European Sales Manager, Product Managers, and/or R&D to deliver impactful presentations, product demonstrations, and on-site visits., • Represent the company at trade shows, vendor events, and customer meetings as required., • Gather and provide market intelligence and competitive insights to the organization to inform strategy., • Analyse accounts, competitive activity, and product mix; identify areas of growth and implement actionable sales plans., • Contribute to the development and execution of the business plan to increase revenue within the territory. Qualifications • Mandatory: BSc in Molecular Biology or related life science discipline, • Desirable: MS or PhD in Molecular Biology or related life science discipline Required Skills • Mandatory: Minimum 2 years lab bench experience in Cell, Molecular Biology or related area., • Desirable: Minimum 2 years’ experience selling kits and reagents into Edinburgh University, Glasgow University, Beatson Institute, Manchester University, University of Newcastle, University York and other key accounts in the north of the UK. Minimum 3 years sales experience selling life science kits and reagents into Life Science Market. An established network of contacts within above accounts., • Mandatory: Driving License and right to work in the UK Location and travel North of UK near key accounts such as Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle, Liverpool etc and travel to these key accounts on a regular basis.
