SEN Teacher (KS3–KS4) Location: Merton, South London Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the School We are a nurturing and inclusive specialist school in Merton dedicated to supporting pupils with complex needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and associated learning challenges. The Role We are seeking a passionate and resilient SEN Teacher to join our team, working with pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will play a vital role in delivering personalised learning pathways that prepare students for adulthood, independence, and meaningful post-16 opportunities. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with complex needs, • Adapt curriculum content to meet a range of cognitive and developmental levels, • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets, • Support students’ functional skills, life skills, and preparation for adulthood, • Create a structured, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment, • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals, • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress effectively, • Foster positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues The Ideal Candidate Will Have • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly complex needs and/or ASD, • Knowledge of pathways such as functional skills, ASDAN, or alternative curricula, • Strong understanding of behaviour support and communication strategies, • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach, • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people What We Offer • A supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities, • A well-resourced learning environment, • Opportunities for career progression, • A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference in young people’s lives How to Apply Please submit your CV outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
