Opportunity Overview The role of Senior Technician (Aerodynamics) is key to ensuring that students within SSEE can receive the best student experience possible in the degree programmes that encompass Aeronautical & Mechanical Engineering as well as supporting students from other degree programmes where required. The successful candidate will provide positive, proactive support to ensure the safe and efficient operation of a range of fluid flow and thermo-fluid systems including wind tunnels, simple gas turbines and compressors. The role holder will take responsibility for the daily operations of the Aeronautical & Mechanical Engineering Laboratory and associated facilities and equipment, support the provision of taught laboratory classes and enable research and project work including working with CAD and manufacturing of testing models, in particular wind tunnel models. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high standards of laboratory safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. As part of a collaborative team, the role holder may also be expected to provide support across other areas to ensure a seamless and efficient service. The Head of Financial Accounting sits within the University’s senior financial team and is responsible for preparation of the University’s financial accounts. The role will lead the Financial Accounting, Income and Treasury and Accounts Payable teams. The Head of Financial Accounting is responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of all financial data, coordinating the preparation of the Group annual accounts, including year-end audit files, and making tax returns.
