Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Day Supervisor (Electrical Bias) to support the fit-out and transition to full operation of a new corporate headquarters. This role will initially operate on a temporary basis (potentially until the end of 2024), with the opportunity to become permanent as the building moves into steady-state operations. The successful candidate will act as the day-to-day operational supervisor during the fit-out phase, with responsibility for safe electrical isolations, restoration of power, and the issuing and management of Permits to Work (PTW) for contractors. As the building progresses toward live operation, the role will evolve to support mobilisation, commissioning, and operational readiness activities. This is a unique opportunity to be involved from mobilisation through to full operation of a best-in-class smart building, offering exposure to cutting-edge FM technologies and future-focused operating models. The Building The new headquarters incorporates industry-leading smart building technologies, including: Fully integrated BIM (Building Information Modelling) platforms Client concierge and digital service systems A highly connected, data-driven operating environment designed to enhance efficiency, resilience, and sustainability Key Responsibilities Supervisory & Operational Duties Act as Day Supervisor, overseeing daily site activities and contractor interfaces Safely isolate and restore LV electrical systems to support fit-out works Issue, manage, and close Permits to Work in full compliance with site procedures Liaise with engineering contractors, shift teams, Engineering Manager, and Permit Manager to plan and execute works safely Support fit-out contractor activities, including isolations, connections, permits, and access arrangements Mobilisation & Transition Support Undertake structured training and system familiarisation as part of the Soft Landings process Support the Shift Supervisor in developing operational processes and building configuration Witness commissioning activities and review project and handover documentation Assist maintenance teams during quieter phases of the project Operations & Maintenance Maintain systems and assets using data-driven tools and digital platforms (training provided) Raise, manage, and close jobs using PDAs and CAFM systems Maintain accurate maintenance and permit records for directly employed staff and subcontractors Investigate faults, identify root causes, and produce clear, timely reports Prepare reports and technical documentation as required by the Engineering Manager or Shift Leader Continuous Improvement & Safety Promote and uphold safe working practices, quality standards, and best-practice methodologies Identify smarter, more efficient ways of working and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Make a positive contribution to team performance, culture, and operational standards Skills & Experience Essential Technical Experience Previous experience as a Building Services Engineer (electrical bias) Practical experience working within critical environments (corporate banking or data centre preferred) Proven experience with Permit to Work systems and electrical and water isolations Strong working knowledge of HVAC and associated building services systems HV switching experience (11kV–33kV) – essential Qualifications HV switching qualification and/or demonstrable experience (up to 33kV) City & Guilds Electrical qualifications (Parts 1 & 2 or recognised apprenticeship) 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing ACoP L8 (Water Hygiene) IOSH qualification Willingness to be authorised as LV Authorised Person (LVAP) on site Technical Knowledge BMS and building control systems HVAC plant including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, and VAV systems LTHW boilers Life safety systems 400V LV distribution systems UPS and 2N power distribution architectures STS / ATS systems Standby generators Smart buildings, IoT, and emerging technologies Energy management and optimisation strategies Personal Attributes Self-motivated, flexible, and eager to learn new tools and technologies Strong customer-facing and communication skills Calm under pressure with the ability to work to strict timescales Proactive and solutions-focused mindset Comfortable working independently or within a large, multi-disciplinary team Willingness to adjust working patterns and support weekend working where required Core Competencies Team player who leads by example and promotes high standards Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance Excellent organisational, coordination, and reporting skills Confident PC user with experience of digital FM tools Proven experience in HV operations and critical services environments
