    £35000–£45000 yearly
    Full-time
    Yaxley

Job description We are looking for a Service Technician to join our Peterborough workshop and warehouse team, servicing, repairing and refurbishing high-quality commercial catering equipment built by the world-leading German manufacturer, RATIONAL AG. We would particularly like to hear from experienced technicians who already know this sector and can bring that knowledge into a small, established team — but we are equally happy to consider recently qualified technicians with the right accreditations who want to build genuine specialist expertise. The salary range reflects your level of experience. This is a workshop-based role working on premium equipment to manufacturer standards. 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday — the occasional early start around exhibition deadlines, but no call-out rota. How we work We're a small team, and the people doing the job have a real say in how it's done. If something's inefficient or a process could work better, we'd rather hear it than have you work around it. You'd raise it with the operations manager or the MD directly — no tickets, no committee, and usually an answer or implemented strategy the same week. Key responsibilities • Service, diagnose, repair and refurbish commercial catering equipment, • Fault-finding on both gas and electrical systems, • Testing and commissioning in line with manufacturer standards, • Recording work, test readings and photographs in our job system as you go, • Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and workmanship, • Working primarily within the Peterborough workshop and warehouse What you'll need • Commercial gas accreditation (CCCN1, COMCAT5 & LPG Crossover), • A recognised electrical qualification, • Sound fault-finding and problem-solving ability, • To be reliable and well organised, comfortable working independently or as part of a team, • To be comfortable working on a computer, tablet or phone — all job records, test results and photographs are logged in our own system as the work is done, • Full UK driving licence preferred What will set you apart • Experience servicing or refurbishing commercial catering equipment, • Familiarity with combination ovens and pressure cooking appliances, • The ability to work to a manufacturer's technical standards and documentation Newly qualified? Please still apply. If you hold the accreditations above and want to specialise, we will provide the necessary training. What we offer • Regular Monday-to-Friday hours, workshop-based — no call-out rota, no regular long-distance travel, • Manufacturer training and full technical documentation, • Purpose-built job system — no paper job sheets, and everything you need on one screen, • A small, supportive technical team where your work is visible, • Long-term career prospects with a settled employer
