American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Chandler, Arizona. • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/15/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level 1 trauma center position requiring recent ICU and neuro or CV experience, active AZ or compact RN licensure, and advanced certifications. • Work in a Level 1 trauma acute care ICU with medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, and cardiac patients, • Units include Surgical ICU, Trauma Neuro Surgery ICU, and Medical/Cardiac/Overflow ICU, • 32-bed SICU and 36-bed Medical Cardiac ICU plus 12-bed overflow unit with 1:1 to 1:2 nurse-patient ratios, • Patient population includes trauma (falls, GSWs, MVAs), neurosurgery (crani, CVA, post-TPA), cardiac surgery, sepsis, ARDS, DKA, COVID, and vascular cases, • RNs titrate a variety of drips including Propofol, fentanyl, vasopressors, and insulin, • No monitor techs—RNs interpret their own cardiac strips on GE monitors, • EMR: Cerner (experience preferred), • Respiratory therapists and intensivists in-house 24/7, charge nurse available, • Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, with self-scheduling and up to 3 weekends per month required, • First to float among all ICUs and to telemetry as needed (1:3-1:4 ratios), • RNs are responsible for titrating complex medication drips and interpreting cardiac strips, • Orientation includes 1-2 unit-specific days with skills validation for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices, • RNs must wear navy scrubs, • Holiday coverage may be required, with up to one holiday off per assignment, • No additional call or standby required, but low census may occur, • First-time travelers are welcome if they meet experience qualifications, • Candidates failing key clinical or skills assessments may be disqualified for 6 months, • Active AZ or compact RN license required at the time of consideration, • Minimum 3 years of recent ICU experience required, including neuro or cardiovascular ICU exposure, • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required, • Must pass the UNA Dysrhythmia Exam within 24-48 hours prior to offer (maximum 2 attempts), • Must pass a skills validation Sim Lab on day 1 of orientation, • Must provide two professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, • Must provide a copy of driver’s license for residence verification, • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility for eligibility, • No full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past year, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-643174.
