Job Description Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description This role supports a modern, clean warehouse and production facility by safely moving products and materials, assisting with packaging and kitting, and maintaining an organized work area. You will contribute to efficient logistics and production operations by handling incoming and outgoing materials, operating material handling equipment, and following established safety and 5S standards. Responsibilities • Move products throughout the facility to support production, logistics, and warehouse operations., • Help move product outside to a new warehouse as needed., • Support assembly operations with repackaging, kitting, and staging of materials., • Pack products according to established procedures and quality standards., • Load and unload products from trucks, trailers, or other transport vehicles., • Handle scrap bins by transporting them to the unloading area and transferring materials into dumpsters safely., • Safely remove and dispose of wood, plastic, metal, and other packaging materials according to standard procedures., • Maintain a clean and safe working environment through proper and timely disposition and storage of materials., • Complete routine inspections of material handling equipment and report any issues., • Use shipping systems and related tools to support shipping and receiving activities as needed., • Perform general warehouse, production, and material handling tasks in a versatile role., • Follow all facility safety expectations, including the use of required personal protective equipment., • Work comfortably at heights when required by the tasks., • Experience in shipping and receiving activities., • Experience with packaging and packing products in a warehouse or production environment., • Experience in general production or general labor work., • Ability to perform warehouse inventory tasks and basic inventory management., • Experience with loading and unloading materials and products., • Ability to operate or support the use of material handling equipment such as forklifts, turret trucks, stand-up forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and stand-up lifts (training or certification as required by employer)., • Comfort working in a warehouse environment that may include exposure to smells such as paint and oil., • Comfort working at heights when required., • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and handling materials throughout the shift., • Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and steel-toe shoes., • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines., • Previous shipping and receiving experience is preferred., • Previous general labor or production experience is a plus., • Experience using RF scanners for inventory and material tracking., • Familiarity with warehouse inventory systems and inventory management processes., • Exposure to or experience with shipping systems such as UPS WorldShip and working with bills of lading., • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Work Environment The facility is modern, very clean, and strongly driven by 5S principles (sort, set-in-order, shine, standardize, sustain), ensuring a well-organized, lean, and efficient workspace. The building is well lit, climate controlled, and laid out with wide, open areas rather than narrow aisles, making material movement safer and more comfortable. Operations are organized into several main departments, including new production, wind service (disassembly), industrial (repairs and new builds), and logistics (shipping and receiving), providing exposure to diverse processes. Safety is a top priority, with a nationally recognized safety record and multiple years without recordable or lost-time injuries. All employees must wear safety glasses and steel-toe shoes at all times, and adherence to safety rules is non-negotiable. The standard schedule for this role is 1st shift, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The environment may include smells such as paint and oil, and some tasks require working at heights. Team members receive two paid 20-minute breaks during the shift. The company provides work shirts, and employees should wear their own jeans or work pants that they do not mind getting dirty, even though the facility is generally clean and well maintained. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Elgin, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.48 - $19.48/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
