As a global organization with multiple entities in North America, Europe and Asia, Skybound is seeking a seasoned Production Finance Manager to lead core financial planning and reporting functions for TV, Film, and Video Game projects across multiple platforms, in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. The Finance Manager, Production, Project and Revenue Reporting is the financial lead for content production and project planning: responsible for budgeting, ultimates modeling, cost reporting, and ensuring that contractual waterfalls and royalty structures align with company objectives. This person partners closely with Legal, Production, and Development teams to ensure that budgeting, accounting and contract terms reflect the intended financial structure. Reports: This position will report to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Planning Management • Lead the development of production and project budgets (initial, revised, and final) in coordination with Finance, Production, Development, Creative, and Legal teams, • Create and maintain ultimates models — forecast vs actual cost performance, recasting estimates for final settlement, • Monitor and analyze variance between forecast, budget, and actuals of the relevant Productions and Projects, • Maintain, update, and reconcile project-level models and the roll up into corporate production journals, • Oversee cost reporting for productions (weekly, monthly, quarterly) and review reports submitted by production accountants, • Reconcile cost report data to accounting / general ledger, identify discrepancies, and initiate adjustments, • Validate line-item accruals, holdbacks, residuals, participations, and chargebacks, • Liaise with Accounting to track prepaid, committed, and capitalized costs, and ensure proper accounting treatment, • Review and provide input on contract wording (licensing, distribution, production, royalty) to safeguard the intended waterfall structure, • Ensure contract terms are properly captured in financial models and accounting treatment, • Validate royalty waterfalls and profit participation calculations against contractual terms, • Review structure of profit participation worksheets utilized by the operational accounting team and assist in streamlining preparation., • Act as secondary reviewer of complex participation statement calculations, • Liaise with Legal and Business Affairs to resolve ambiguities or translate contract intent into accounting logic, • Work with Tax, Legal, and Incentives teams to forecast and validate production tax credits and incentives, • Ensure that accounting for incentives, rebates, grants, or co-production structures is correct and documented, • Support audit readiness for production-related cost, reserves, and contractual compliance, • Supervise or mentor production accounting team members in coordinating project plans and their journal entries or month end closing procedures, • Develop, document, and continuously improve production and project accounting procedures, and templates, • Align production planning workflows with corporate accounting systems, ensuring seamless data integration, • Collaborate cross-functionally (Legal, Production, Corporate Accounting) on financial reporting, system enhancements, and process efficiency Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred, • 7+ years of experience in production planning/accounting, entertainment finance, media, or similar environments, • Deep experience with ultimates modeling, show cost reporting, budget vs actual variance analysis, • Strong understanding of contractual waterfalls, royalty structures, residuals / participations, • Familiarity with production tax incentives, co-production accounting, and contract incentives, • Experience working with Legal / Business Affairs to interpret and align contract terms, • Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel (advanced modeling, pivot, sensitivity analysis), • Comfortable managing multiple productions concurrently, with strong organizational and communication skills, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong leadership and interpersonal qualities., • A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment., • Ability to pivot and prioritize work.
