Job Description HR / Payroll Assistant (Temp-to-Hire) On-site in Covina, CA Payrate: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (1-hour lunch) Join a team that values precision, people, and process! An industry leader in precision mold design and manufacturing is seeking a detail-oriented HR / Payroll Assistant to join our HR team in Covina, CA. This full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a close-knit environment, thrives on organization, and takes pride in keeping payroll and HR operations running smoothly. What You’ll Do Payroll (Core Function – Biweekly Cycle) • Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 65 California-based employees., • Review timecards, calculate earnings, overtime, and deductions accurately., • Prepare manual checks, handle corrections, and ensure compliance with state and federal tax laws., • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, maintaining accurate employee files and records., • Update job changes, benefits, and employment status in the HR system., • Assist with employee relations matters and respond to payroll and benefits inquiries., • Maintain strict confidentiality while managing sensitive employee information., • Prepare payroll and audit reports as needed., • Ensure full compliance with California wage and hour laws. What You Bring • 2–3 years of experience in payroll or HR administration (manufacturing environment a plus!)., • Experience processing California payroll; ADP familiarity preferred., • Strong Excel and data-entry skills; comfort working with both manual and system-based processes., • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational ability., • A proactive attitude ready to jump in and help a small, collaborative HR team succeed.
