This role requires strong technical skills, good judgment, emotional intelligence, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional presence. This team member helps deliver exceptional patient care, supports workflow, communicates clearly with the medical team, and ensures clients feel informed and cared for during stressful situations. What You’ll Do Patient Care & Technical Skills • Triage incoming patients and assist with urgent/emergency assessments, • Obtain patient histories, vitals, and accurate documentation, • Safely restrain patients and assist with examinations and procedures, • Place IV catheters, collect blood/urine/fecal samples, and run diagnostics, • Monitor anesthesia and sedated patients (as applicable), • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian, • Assist with wound care, bandage changes, and inpatient nursing care, • Support emergency procedures and critical patient stabilization, • Take and process radiographs, • Maintain accurate treatment sheets and medical records Client Communication • Communicate clearly, compassionately, and professionally with clients, • Help clients understand treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care, • Provide emotional support to pet owners during stressful situations, • Escalate concerns appropriately to the DVM or leadership team Team & Clinic Support • Communicate effectively with doctors, technicians, CSRs, and kennel team, • Jump in where needed to support patient care and clinic flow, • Keep treatment areas clean, stocked, and organized, • Assist with inventory awareness and supply needs, • Maintain a positive, collaborative attitude even during high-volume periods, • Help create a culture of accountability, teamwork, and compassion What We’re Looking For • Experience as a Veterinary Technician in an emergency, urgent care, or high-volume GP setting, • Strong technical skills and confidence in patient handling, • Ability to stay calm, focused, and kind in fast-paced situations, • Strong communication and teamwork skills, • Humble, coachable, and eager to continue learning, • Dependable, professional, and patient-centered, • Passion for serving both pets and people well Preferred Qualifications • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT / RVT / CVT) preferred (not required, depending on role/location), • Emergency/critical care experience preferred, • Experience with in-house diagnostics, radiology, and anesthesia monitoring, • Familiarity with electronic medical records and fast-paced clinical workflow Schedule Expectations • Full-time or Part-time opportunities available, • Must be available for a flexible schedule, which may include:, • Evenings, • Weekends, • Holidays (rotating, as needed), • Emergency medicine requires teamwork and reliability, and we are looking for someone who can be counted on by both the team and our clients.
