Job Description SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION: Provides engaging instruction, administers tests, and evaluates student progress, understanding, and proficiency in assigned field of Career Technical Training. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provides students with industry-recognized instruction and training., • Develops and prepares lessons; recommends curricula changes and supplemental materials., • Administers and corrects tests; logs and maintains progress and attendance., • Identifies, selects, and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs., • Manages the classroom by moving about the room to tutor, coach, evaluate, and assist each student as the need arises., • Motivates and counsels students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits., • Evaluates and supervise students in an on-the-job training experience. SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: • Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional strategies, classroom management and content field, • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills, • High energy level and ability to engage students, • Ability to quickly learn Job Corps methodologies and strategies, • Ability to use different methods and mediums in delivering course material, • Ability to effectively respond to student issues as they arise, • Experience must meet the state or professional trade organization requirements., • At least two years of teaching experience that would equip applicant with knowledge, skills and ability to perform the related duties of the position., • Three years experience as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, millwright, painter or other construction trade is required.
