About This Role: This position will be responsible for all driver training functions for the CDL training at Kendall. The Training Coordinator will have proven longevity in the field, excellent communication skills, possess demonstrated physical, intellectual, and leadership ability to perform duties over the road, maneuvering range, and in classroom instruction. Employment Type • Full Time, • Class A CDL license with no restrictions, • 5 years verifiable experience as a CDL driver, • Clean MVR report for the Last 7 years, • Current and up to date medical card, • Experience in driver training and instruction, • An Understanding of the ELDT regulations, • An understanding of the FMCSA CFR 49 Part 380, • Must be highly organized, • Ability to work with a variety of learning styles and skill levels, • Able to communicate clearly and calmly, • Have a positive and motivating attitude, • Be a self-starter and self-motivating on tasks, • Be willing to work weekends on occasion, • Have patience and understand that new employees need to build confidence through proper training and mature guidance, • Be willing to be instructed yourself and to learn from other instructors, understanding that there is a process in place that works, we train employees to get their CDL License Responsibilities: • Instruct and teach employees the proper way to drive a commercial vehicle and conduct an evaluation based on strict guidelines for the road evaluation, • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities that pertain to CDL training, • Providing instruction on the parts and functions of the vehicle, and on-road regulations, • Proper way to conduct a pre-trip inspection, • Observe and evaluate employee’s performance and development and provide appropriate feedback to help employees develop confidence in their driving skills, • Documenting and reporting on employee’s progress, maintaining accurate and complete records of employee’s progress and completion. Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, regulations, and company policies, • Communicate necessary information regularly to employees and colleagues regarding employee’s progress and student needs, • Must maintain a high level of integrity and ensure that the evaluations are completed professional, equal, without bias, • Setting up and instructing employees on the Behind The Wheel (BTW) (range) part of the training course, • Keep up to date with developments in the subject area of training, • Reporting all accidents or injuries to proper department $55,000-$57,000/year Work authorization requirements: Must meet I-9 requirements.
