Job DescriptionDescription: Riverside Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a highly motivated individual interested in starting a career path as a Field Service/Computer Technician. We provide all employees with on-the-job training that is needed to succeed in the field, and we provide formalized training when on-the-job experience shows employees are ready to move to the next level (BICSI Installer 1 and Installer 2). Job Summary: As an entry-level technician, you will work under the supervision of a Technician or Lead Technician to install, wire, test, and repair various types of low voltage and technology systems equipment. In this role, you will assist the Lead Technician in rough-in cable, drop cable down through walls, and perform various types of copper terminations, including CAT 5e, 6, 6A as well as all non-shielded and shielded cable. The ideal candidate will be a self-starting individual whose responsibilities will include but are not limited to installation of low voltage cable, installation of fiber cable, termination of both, and additional related projects. What You’ll Be Doing: • Providing onsite support to our customers, including hardware and networking support for desktops, laptops, and servers, • Cable pulling, placement, pathways, navigation, stringing, separating, & following best practices, • Maintaining daily performance of computer systems and running diagnostic programs to identify problems with computer systems, • Installing, modifying, and repairing computer hardware and software, • Termination “how-tos” including Cat5 and Cat6 cable, coaxial cable, modular vs. non-modular patch panels, & faceplate installation, • Installing support structures and pathways (J-hooks, support rings, cable slings and cable tray / ladder rack, conduit, and raceway), • Providing technical assistance and support for incoming issues related to computer systems and hardware, • Communicating accurately, concisely, and professionally with the customer about important repair steps taken, parts ordered, and time estimated until completion, • Responding to email messages for customers seeking assistance, • Reading blueprints and identifying cable paths, • Working in a team and effectively interacting with others, • Maintaining a high degree of professionalism in actions, demeanor, and dress, • Performing other related duties as required and assigned, such as printer deployments and onsite support for a variety of services, computer repair, etc. Requirements: What You’ll Need: • Prior cabling or computer repair experience preferred, • A+, certification highly desired, • Knowledge of CAT 5e, 6, 6A is a plus, • Position requires traveling, both in and out of state, including overnight stays, • BICSI certification, or willingness to obtain certification, • Must be available for varying shifts depending on customers’ needs, • Exceptional organizational skills and a professional presence, • Ability to work efficiently within a team as well as independently, • Regular reliable attendance, • Must have ability to lift 50 lbs. as well as know and use proper lifting techniques, • Must be able to climb ladders, • Must be comfortable working at heights of 3-40 ft., • Must have exceptional driving record and have a valid driver’s license (part of the responsibilities may be to drive a company vehicle), • Must be able to pass drug screening and background check What You Can Look Forward to: • We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including 401(k) with match, medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, and a generous PTO plan., • PASSION: A passionate work environment – we are passionate about finding unique, creative solutions to our customers’ challenges., • CREATIVITY: A creative environment with creative people – we enjoy finding creative solutions to different challenges., • TEAMWORK: A team-centric environment - we thrive on working with others to reach a common goal.
