Position Summary As a Machine Milling Service Technician at Fidia Co. (USA), you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of Fidia’s milling machines, milling heads, controls, and software at customer facilities across the United States. This is a field-based role requiring extensive travel, combining mechanical, electrical, and CNC/software skills to keep customers’ machines running at peak performance. Key Responsibilities • Install, commission, and calibrate Fidia high-speed milling machines, gantry/5-axis systems, and CNC controls at customer sites., • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software faults in milling machines, axes, spindles, and control systems., • Perform preventative maintenance, precision alignment, and geometric accuracy checks to minimize downtime., • Conduct control software upgrades, parameter tuning, and system integrations (anti-collision modules, adaptive machining, etc.)., • Train customer operators and maintenance staff on safe and efficient machine use., • Maintain service records, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings to both the customer and Fidia Co. technical teams., • Support spare parts identification and replacement in coordination with the U.S. parts department., • Adhere to safety standards and represent Fidia Co. professionally while on-site. Required: • 3–5+ years’ experience servicing CNC machine tools (milling machines strongly preferred)., • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills., • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams., • Familiarity with CNC controls, servo drives, PLCs, and industrial electronics., • Proficiency with PC-based diagnostic tools and software updates., • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills., • Willingness to travel extensively (70%+), with valid U.S. driver’s license., • Experience with Fidia machines, controls, or comparable European/Japanese CNC systems., • Background in aerospace, automotive, or mold & die machining environments., • Associate’s degree or higher in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or related technical field., • Field service role with frequent travel to customer sites across the U.S., • Occasional weekend or after-hours work may be required for urgent service needs., • Competitive base salary (depending on experience) plus overtime., • Company travel reimbursement (per diem, mileage, lodging, flights)., • Medical, dental, vision insurance, and retirement plan., • Paid time off and holidays., • Ongoing technical training and career growth opportunities.
