Job Description QA/QC Director – Lead Quality Excellence Across Major Industrial Projects Location: San Antonio, Texas ️ Industry: Industrial / Construction Full-Time | Senior Leadership Role Compensation: Pay commensurate with experience Are you a seasoned QA/QC leader with deep expertise in industrial construction? Join our team as the QA/QC Director, where you will shape company-wide quality strategy, oversee compliance programs, and drive continuous improvement across all operating units. What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities) • Provide leadership and long-term strategy to design, implement, and maintain the company’s QA/QC program., • Continuously improve and administer quality control processes, procedures, and documentation., • Partner with Vice Presidents, Operations Managers, Project Managers, and Field Supervisors to ensure quality programs align with company goals and industry best practices., • Develop, update, and enforce corporate QA/QC policies and procedures., • Maintain company QA/QC manuals in full compliance with codes, standards, and customer specifications., • Deliver companywide QA/QC training, seminars, and knowledge-building initiatives., • Lead hiring, training, and deployment of quality control personnel for project inspections and field work., • Serve as the primary resource for quality issues, resolutions, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts., • Exercise authority to stop nonconforming work or activities when necessary., • Establish and monitor key QA/QC performance metrics and operational compliance indicators., • Track and report on warranty, rework costs, and make recommendations for improvement., • Participate in project planning, reviews, and customer presentations to support business development., • Manage quality expectations for subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors, including pre-qualification reviews., • Collaborate with customers to strengthen relationships, improve quality, and enhance feedback loops., • Oversee calibration/testing programs, internal and external audits, and compliance requirements., • Lead root cause analyses, corrective actions, and quality issue remediation., • Attend and support project-specific and companywide QA/QC orientations, meetings, and training. What You Bring (Required Qualifications) • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of degree)., • 10+ years of QA/QC management experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role within construction., • Expert understanding of ASME and National Board Codes., • Testing experience (RT, MT, PT) preferred., • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills., • Ability to interpret technical codes, specifications, drawings, and reports., • Professional certifications (ASQ or similar) preferred., • Strong communication and leadership skills., • Proficiency in MS Office, spreadsheets, project management, and presentation software., • Ability to travel frequently, including overnight stays. Working Environment Indoor and outdoor job site environments with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, odors, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions. Frequent motor vehicle and air travel required. Physical Requirements • Manual dexterity; ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods., • Occasional climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, and crouching., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently., • Frequent driving.
