Job Description We are seeking a General Manager for a full time and direct hire role for one of our amazing and fast-growing home services partners just outside of Chicago, IL. This is an onsite role. You will be the senior brand-level operating leader for this branch. You will be responsible for full P&L, operational execution, team leadership, and growth strategy. This role blends hands-on operational leadership with strategic planning and financial accountability. You will oversee installation, service, repair, sales, customer experience, and administrative functions for this home services company. Responsibilities: • Oversee day-to-day operations across installation, service, repair, dispatch and scheduling., • Oversee warehousing, inventory management, purchasing practices, and internal controls., • Make sure there is consistent execution of company standards for safety, quality, and customer experience., • Lead project execution and field productivity, and proactively resolve operational bottlenecks and service delays., • Oversee fleet, tools, facilities, and asset utilization., • Implement and continuously improve SOPs, workflows, and performance dashboards., • Take full ownership of brand-level P&L performance., • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and operating plans with the Controller., • Monitor job costing, gross margins, labor efficiency, and overhead., • Drive profitability through pricing discipline, cost controls, and productivity initiatives., • Review and analyze financial and operational performance and KPIs with leadership., • Partner with sales team to drive revenue growth and margin performance., • Support residential and builder channel strategies., • Participate in key customer, builder, and vendor relationships., • Improve conversion rates, close rates, and customer lifetime value., • People management, including hiring, promotions, discipline, termination, budgeting, and operational strategy., • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing managers, technicians, and support staff., • Set clear expectations, performance metrics, and accountability systems., • Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action as needed., • Lead regular leadership and cross-functional meetings., • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, state licensing, and local regulatory requirements., • Maintain safety programs, training, and incident reporting., • Oversee insurance, risk mitigation, and regulatory audits., • Do physical inventory counts on periodic basis., • Ensure compliance with California and federal wage & hour laws, meal and rest period requirements, paid leave laws, and recordkeeping obligations., • Partner with leadership on long-term growth and scaling initiatives., • Leverage the company's system to optimize operating performance. Requirements: • 7+ years of leadership experience in home services, construction, or field-based operations., • Strong P&L ownership and operational leadership experience., • Strong understanding of field service workflows, safety, and compliance., • Ability to lead managers and scale teams., • Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and KPI management., • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills., • Experience in garage door, overhead door, or related industries is a plus., • Experience in PE-backed or growth-oriented platforms is a plus., • Experience with ServiceTitan operating system is a plus., • Bilingual is a plus., • Must be able to work across office, warehouse, and field environments., • Must be able to travel between office locations and job sites as needed.
