Job DescriptionBronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. Across our 60+ locations, we provide programs in a variety of service areas, including workforce development, children, youth, families, seniors and homeless prevention. The Work Readiness Training Program of BronxWorks is designed to help participants develop the soft skills employers desire in employees to ensure that employees can perform work responsibilities efficiently and effectively, leading to the advancement and/or retention of employment. RESPONSIBILITIES Recruitment and Enrollment • Develop and implement creative recruitment strategies to attract a diverse and qualified pool of candidates., • Manage the full recruitment cycle, from initial inquiry through orientation., • Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess candidates' qualifications, readiness for training, and motivation to complete the program., • Maintain and update recruitment data in the program database (e.g., Salesforce, etc.), tracking outreach activities, applicants, and enrollments., • Maintain a waiting list of prospective participants, providing regular communication and follow-up., • Support participants in their pursuit of career readiness, connect them with vital services, and other services essential for integration into the workforce. Coordinate efforts both externally and intra-agency., • Create and distribute informational collateral, such as flyers, brochures, and email campaigns., • Generate reports on recruitment metrics, enrollment targets, and the effectiveness of outreach efforts., • Assist with the coordination of weekly orientation sessions for new participants., • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in compliance with all reporting requirements., • Ensure program meets contractual goals and reporting requirements., • Perform all other duties and tasks assigned QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in education, adult education, social work, counseling or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered., • Minimum of 2 years of experience in in recruitment, community outreach, or a related human services field., • Must be outgoing, empathetic, and organized self-starter who is passionate about empowering people to achieve their career goals., • Experience working with populations facing barriers to employment (e.g., formerly incarcerated individuals, unhoused individuals, opportunity youth, etc.) is highly desirable., • Prior experience in a workforce development or job training program is a plus., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of audiences in diverse settings., • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment., • Proficiency with database systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite., • A proactive, results-oriented attitude with a high degree of empathy and discretion., • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English/Spanish) is a plus., • Must be culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds, self-motivated and able to handle sensitive client information confidentially., • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc.), • Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required., • Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory, • Must be able to work some evenings or weekends to attend community events. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods., • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds., • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time., • Ability to climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork., • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents., • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
