Job Description Job Title: Civil Engineer Job Description This Civil Engineer role focuses on managing and delivering a wide range of land development and infrastructure projects, from small-scale to large-scale, in a safe, timely, and sustainable manner. You will work on predominantly mixed-use residential and urban projects, using modern design tools and collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders. Responsibilities • Manage, design, develop, and maintain construction and land development projects from concept through completion, ensuring safe, timely, and sustainable delivery., • Conduct on-site investigations and gather field data, including reviewing maps, reports, tests, drawings, and other technical documentation., • Perform technical and feasibility studies and prepare design plans and blueprints that meet all relevant technical specifications and regulatory requirements., • Assess potential project risks, materials, and costs, and incorporate these considerations into design and planning decisions., • Provide engineering advice and creatively resolve emerging problems or deficiencies during design and construction., • Oversee and mentor junior staff, supporting their professional development and ensuring high-quality work output., • Liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies, to coordinate approvals and project progress., • Prepare and hand over completed structures, systems, and services for operational use, ensuring all requirements are met., • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and compile clear and timely project status reports., • Manage project budgets, including estimating costs and overseeing the purchase of equipment and materials., • Ensure full compliance with applicable guidelines, permits, safety regulations, and industry standards., • 1–4 years of proven working experience in civil engineering., • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering., • Civil Engineering background with a strong foundation in land development and infrastructure design., • Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D or similar tools., • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD for revising, updating, and refining engineering designs., • Experience with stormwater design, including tools such as Civil 3D and HydroCAD, or similar stormwater modeling software., • Proficiency in site layout and site design, including grading, drainage, and utility design., • Experience with erosion control design and preparation of related plans and details., • Familiarity with obtaining and coordinating regulatory approvals for civil engineering projects., • Project management skills, including planning, organizing, and tracking project tasks and deliverables., • Supervision skills to guide and mentor junior team members effectively., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and external stakeholders., • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus., • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD Civil 3D for multidisciplinary coordination and advanced civil design., • Experience specifically in stormwater design and modeling using tools such as HydroCAD or equivalent., • background in mixed-use residential projects, particularly in urban environments., • Familiarity with project work in dense urban areas similar to Newark, Jersey City, and Paterson., • Strong problem-solving abilities with a creative approach to design challenges and field issues. You will work in a newly built office space located in a remodeled former bank building with abundant natural light and a modern layout. The team is composed of a energetic staff with an average age of around 26, fostering a collaborative and dynamic culture. The project portfolio consists primarily of mixed-use residential developments, with a significant portion of work focused on urban projects in cities such as Newark, Jersey City, and Paterson. After the first month, you may work from home two days per week and will receive your own computer and VPN access to support remote work.
