Today, Violet Foods operates a diversified portfolio spanning legacy regional brands and category-leading organic offerings, with distribution across retail, natural, private label, and foodservice channels, supported by a scalable manufacturing and supply chain footprint positioned for continued growth and optimization. Role Overview: The Director of Procurement is responsible for leading strategic sourcing, vendor management, and procurement operations across raw materials, packaging, finished goods, and external manufacturing partners. This role will develop sourcing strategies that support growth, improve margins, ensure supply continuity, and strengthen supplier partnerships across Violet Foods’ expanding platform. This individual will serve as both a strategic leader and hands-on operator, driving procurement execution while supporting operational excellence, commercialization efforts, and long-term supply chain scalability within a dynamic CPG environment. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and execute procurement and sourcing strategies aligned with company growth objectives, operational scalability, quality standards, and margin improvement initiatives., • Lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities across raw materials, packaging, ingredients, finished goods, and external manufacturing partners to ensure continuity of supply and cost competitiveness., • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, onboard, and manage supplier and co-manufacturing relationships, establishing strong partnerships that support long-term business objectives and operational reliability., • Drive vendor negotiations, including pricing, lead times, payment terms, service-level expectations, capacity commitments, and risk mitigation strategies., • Build and implement scalable procurement processes, controls, and supplier management practices to support a rapidly growing multi-brand portfolio., • Partner cross-functionally with Planning, Operations, and Finance to align sourcing strategies with production requirements, inventory objectives, and customer demand forecasts., • Oversee purchase order execution, supplier scheduling, and material availability to support uninterrupted production and customer fulfillment across multiple channels., • Monitor supplier performance through KPI development, driving continuous improvement in service, quality, responsiveness, and cost management., • Collaborate closely with Finance leadership on COGS management, budgeting, forecasting, working capital initiatives, and margin optimization opportunities., • Analyze commodity markets, supplier capacity constraints, and industry trends to proactively identify supply risks, cost pressures, and sourcing opportunities., • Maintain integrity of supplier, material, and product specification data within ERP and related systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and third-party certification requirements., • Support innovation and commercialization initiatives by sourcing new ingredients, packaging, and manufacturing capabilities for product trials, scale-up activities, and product launches., • Lead procurement-related continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, inventory optimization, supplier consolidation, and process standardization. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field., • 7–10 years of progressive procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience within a CPG or food manufacturing environment., • Proven experience managing suppliers, contract manufacturers, and vendor negotiations., • Strong understanding of procurement operations, sourcing strategy, and supply chain best practices., • Experience sourcing raw materials, packaging, and finished goods preferred., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel., • Experience with ERP systems; implementation experience preferred., • Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to evaluate costs, trends, and supplier performance., • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills., • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented environment.
