Job DescriptionSalary: Location: Midwest Region (KS, IA, MO, IL, CO, OK) Travel: Approximately 40% Reports To: VP of Install & Retrofit Position Summary The Area Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, margin performance, and client retention across Nexus Midwest territory. This role serves as the senior operational and relationship leader for the region, overseeing Project Managers and Coordinators while partnering closely with Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership. This position blends operational leadership with relationship-based business development. While there is no direct sales quota, the Area Manager is expected to actively support new client onboarding, expand existing accounts, and serve as a trusted Nexus representative in the field. Success in this role requires strong judgment, ownership, urgency, and the ability to lead multi-state teams through growth and change. Key Responsibilities Territory & Financial Performance • Drive revenue growth, client retention, and margin performance across the assigned Midwest territory, • Maintain light P&L oversight, ensuring projects are executed profitably and aligned with company targets, • Identify risks and opportunities within the region and proactively escalate or resolve issues, • Serve as a senior Nexus representative for key clients, job walks, and strategic conversations, • Support relationship-based selling efforts in coordination with the Sales Manager, • Assist with onboarding new clients and expanding existing accounts through trust, credibility, and delivery, • Directly manage Project Managers and Project Coordinators across multiple states, • Provide coaching, guidance, and accountability to ensure projects are executed efficiently and consistently, • Ensure operational alignment with Nexus standards, processes, and expectations, • Lead with extreme ownership, urgency, and accountability, • Promote clear communication, follow-through, and professional execution at all levels, • Support team development through coaching, feedback, and performance management, • Travel approximately 40% of the time, depending on territory growth, • Conduct on-site client meetings, job walks, leadership visits, and team support, • Maintain strong visibility and presence across the region Qualifications & Experience • Minimum of 4 years of leadership or management experience preferred, • Experience managing multi-state or remote teams, • Strong balance of operational leadership and relationship management skills, • Industry knowledge preferred but not required, • Proven ability to influence, persuade, and build trust with clients and internal teams, • Financial acumen with light P&L or budget responsibility experience, • Strong decision-making, prioritization, and problem-solving skills What This Role Is • A regional leader accountable for results, relationships, and execution, • A collaborative partner to Sales, Operations, and Executive Leadership, • A visible, trusted presence for both clients and internal teams Compensation • Competitive salary, • Travel expenses reimbursed per company policy Why Nexus At Nexus, leadership is hands-on, accountability matters, and growth creates opportunity.
