What You’ll Do Ensure the safety of clients, staff, and visitors, protect Camillus House property, respond to emergencies, and enforce campus rules and procedures with professionalism and compassion. Your Key Responsibilities: Campus Patrol & Safety Monitoring • Patrol campus grounds and buildings on foot to ensure all doors, windows, and gates are secured., • Watch for signs of fire, safety hazards, or dangerous conditions and report them promptly., • Conduct regular checks of dormitories, confirming your presence to residents., • Assist all individuals in complying with Camillus House regulations and campus conduct rules., • Issue traffic and parking citations when appropriate., • Respond to requests for routine departmental services (e.g., unlocking suites, offices, and meeting spaces)., • Provide security coverage for special events and provide crowd control as assigned., • Demonstrate Camillus House values in all interactions:, • Hospitality: Greet everyone with warmth and a willingness to help., • Respect: Honor the dignity of each person., • Spirituality: Support a safe and balanced environment for mind, body, and spirit., • Quality: Bring your best to every task., • High School Diploma or GED required., • 4–5 years of security experience., • Experience making sound decisions using good judgment in routine and urgent situations., • Strong conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills., • Ability to read and interpret departmental policies and procedures., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to operate security-related equipment (radios, AEDs, flashlights, golf carts, etc.)., • CPR and basic first aid certifications preferred., • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows; additional computer skills a plus., • Ability to lead a team effectively while remaining calm under pressure., • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams., • Culturally sensitive to the needs of vulnerable populations., • Class D Florida Security License., • Valid Florida Driver License with clean driving record., • Successful completion of:, • Toxicology screening, • Level II background screening, • OIG reference check, • Sit, stand, walk, kneel, climb, bend, stoop, push/pull, crouch, crawl., • Lift and carry items under 25 lbs., • Work takes place both indoors and outdoors., • Flexible schedule required; shifts include mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays., • Standard shift options include:, • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, • 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
