Job Summary: Well known criminal firm seeks a Litigation Paralegal. They will provide critical support to attorneys by managing case files, preparing legal documents, conducting research, and assisting with trial preparation. This role requires a strong understanding of litigation procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Key Responsibilities: * Case Management: • Assist attorneys in managing and organizing case files, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date records., • Track and manage case deadlines, court dates, and other key events., • Prepare and file legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests. Discovery and Evidence: • Coordinate and conduct discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, reviewing documents, and organizing evidence., • Manage and organize evidence and exhibits for use in court, including preparing exhibit lists and ensuring proper labeling and handling. Legal Research and Documentation: • Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to ongoing litigation., • Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and reports., • Prepare trial binders, witness lists, and other trial-related materials. Client and Witness Interaction: • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and address inquiries., • Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, and interviews with clients, witnesses, and experts., • Assist in preparing clients and witnesses for depositions and court appearances. Court Filings and Hearings: • Prepare and file court documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines., • Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials to assist attorneys, take notes, and manage exhibits. Administrative Support: • Manage attorneys’ calendars, including scheduling appointments, court dates, and deadlines., • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience., • Minimum of [5] years of experience as a litigation paralegal., • Proficiency with legal research tools, case management software, and court filing systems., • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and legal terminology., • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively., • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Certification from a recognized paralegal or legal assistant organization (e.g., NALA, NFPA) is a plus., • Familiarity with criminal law is preferred.
