COOP & Disaster Recovery Development and Oversight: Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the City’s IT Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). Ensure the City's critical IT services can continue to operate during emergencies, disasters, or disruptions. Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to change initiatives and IT continuity. Work with the CIO and relevant teams to develop risk mitigation strategies, ensure preparedness, and implement preventative measures. Organizational Impact Analysis: Assess the impact of IT changes on various departments, processes, and staff. Collaborate with department leaders to minimize negative impacts and ensure smooth transitions. IT Disaster Recovery Planning: Oversee the development and maintenance of disaster recovery plans that align with COOP. Ensure these plans are regularly updated, tested, and ready for deployment in the event of a crisis. Business Continuity Exercises: Coordinate and lead regular business continuity and disaster recovery drills for IT teams and departments. Evaluate the results of these drills and make necessary updates to plans and protocols. Performance Metrics and Monitoring: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for change management initiatives and continuity planning. Crisis Leadership: Act as a primary point of contact for IT leadership during disruptions or emergency situations.
