GTI Values: Safety I Quality I Customer Obsession I Speed I Agility Position Overview The Inventory Control Specialist will support warehouse improvement initiatives, cycle counts, material handling and coordination, labeling, kitting, staging, and overall warehouse operations. This position plays a key role in improving warehouse flow, organization, and accountability while assisting with daily operational needs. Key Responsibilities • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to maintain high inventory accuracy., • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and ERP records., • Conduct root cause analysis on inventory variances and help implement corrective actions., • Support annual physical inventory audits., • Ensure accurate and timely inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, issues, adjustments, returns, and job-related material movements., • Validate material movements in the ERP system to maintain real-time inventory accuracy., • Audit transaction history to identify inconsistencies, missed transactions, improper material handling, or incorrect locations., • Maintain structured documentation of inventory adjustments, corrections, discrepancies, and reconciliation activity., • Maintain lot number, serial number, heat number, or other traceability records where required., • Maintain accurate inventory location records across warehouse, production, staging, finished goods, and outside storage areas., • Ensure materials are properly labeled, staged, stored, and located in accordance with internal standards., • Verify proper labeling and identification of inventory, including part number, quantity, unit of measure, job number, and location., • Monitor WIP inventory to ensure accurate job allocation, work order tracking, and material availability., • Support control of raw material, drops, remnants, WIP, finished goods, purchased components, and outside process inventory., • Assist with tracking inventory sent to and returned from subcontractors or outside processing vendors., • Support control of damaged, rejected, obsolete, or nonconforming inventory to prevent unintended use., • Help identify inventory issues caused by incorrect part numbers, vendor substitutions, BOM errors, or unit-of-measure discrepancies., • Support production teams in resolving material allocation, shortage, quantity, labeling, or location discrepancies., • Support warehouse personnel to ensure proper receiving, stocking, issuing, staging, and movement of materials., • Support Production Control and Purchasing with material availability reporting, inventory status updates, and shortage identification., • Monitor inventory levels to identify shortages, excess stock, slow-moving inventory, obsolete materials, or materials requiring review., • Assist with materials reconciliation for completed jobs, closed work orders, returned materials, and unused inventory., • Maintain compliance with internal controls, audit standards, inventory procedures, and financial reporting requirements., • Generate inventory reports including cycle count accuracy, variance trends, aging inventory, inventory adjustments, and material usage., • Track inventory KPIs, including inventory accuracy percentage, adjustment frequency, variance causes, and inventory turnover., • Maintain flexibility to assist in other warehouse functions while ensuring inventory accuracy, traceability, and control standards are followed.Requirements Required Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred, • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or materials management in a manufacturing environment, • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems, • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and basic data analysis, • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, • Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues systematically Preferred Qualifications • Experience in fabrication, modular manufacturing, or industrial production environments, • Familiarity with cycle counting methodologies and inventory audit procedures, • Understanding of BOM structures and work order transactions, • Exposure to Lean or continuous improvement principles, • Forklift Experience Benefits & Perks GTI offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support employees and their families while providing long-term career growth opportunities within a fast-growing manufacturing organization.
