Job Description The Assembly Technician II supports manufacturing operations by producing high‑quality medical device assemblies in a regulated environment. This role works closely with Manufacturing and Process Engineering to support continuous improvement initiatives including product quality, cost reduction, cycle time improvements, and process validation. The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on assembly experience with a focus on precision soldering and quality workmanship. This position is well suited for candidates with demonstrated soldering expertise who align with Assembly Technician II‑level responsibilities. Key Responsibilities • Assemble and package medical device products according to written specifications and standard operating procedures, • Perform soldering work including fine pitch, through‑hole, and wire soldering, • Complete required documentation related to assembly, production activity, and quality records, • Communicate discrepancies, deviations, or potential quality concerns as they arise, • Perform rework, inspections, and quality testing of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies, • Use mechanical, electrical, and optical tools for inspection and verification of work, • Operate measuring devices and interpret prints, specifications, and quality control documents, • Maintain product traceability and identify non‑conforming material according to procedures, • Perform basic troubleshooting, operational testing, and fault isolation on products or equipment, • Assist Manufacturing and Process Engineers with experiments, process changes, or documentation updates, • Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to GMP and clean room requirements, • Support training of new or less experienced team members as needed, • Fine pitch soldering, • Through‑hole soldering, • Wire solderingMinimum Qualifications, • High School Diploma or equivalent, • 3–5+ years of experience in a related manufacturing or assembly environment, • Experience working under GMP guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures, • Microscope experience for precision assembly or inspection, • Ability to read, write, and understand English, • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately, • Manual dexterity, strong hand‑eye coordination, and good visual acuity, • Ability to use measurement tools and produce assemblies to written specifications, • Experience maintaining records and documentation in a regulated environment, • Ability to identify and segregate non‑conforming product, • Ability to work closely with others and maintain effective working relationshipsTechnical Skills, • Basic soldering skills, • Hardware knowledge including use of DVM and temperature meters, • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies, • Basic understanding of electronics and electricity, • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsPreferred Qualifications, • Previous experience working in a controlled or clean room environment, • Demonstrated experience training or mentoring new operators This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billerica, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
