Job Summary: The VPEnterpriseData Platformleadsthe core technical foundation of our enterprise data ecosystem. This rolereports to the Chief Data and Analytics Officer andis accountable for building,operating, and evolving the data engineering capabilities that ensure our data is trusted, observable, scalable, and ready for advanced analytics, product innovation, and AI-enabled solutions. The VPEnterprise DataPlatformleadsteams responsible for data quality, data observability, data engineering,data governance,and database management, and will play a critical leadership role in Surescripts' enterprise transition to a modern medallion data architecture on Google Cloud Platform. This role partners closely withEnterpriseAnalytics,Data Solutions,Product Innovation, andNetwork Technology and Operations (NT&O)teamsto ensure seamless handoff of production-ready, analytics-optimized data assets. Responsibilities: Enterprise Data Platform & Architecture • Overseethe design, implementation, and adoption of a modern medallion data architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) on Google Cloud Platform, • Own the enterprise common data model, ensuring consistency, scalability, and extensibility across domains and use cases, • Oversee the design and maintenance ofa robust semantic layer that supports governed, self-service analytics acrossthe Surescripts analytics platform which includesTableau and Looker, • Build,mentor, andretainhigh-performingdataengineeringandanalytics engineeringteams, • Establish modernengineeringstandards(cloud-native,meta-datadriven,AI-enabled, automated,resilient)to drivecontinuousimprovementsin costefficiency, velocity, and platformperformance, • Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalabilityof enterprise data platforms supporting mission-critical healthcare workflows, • Lead development and management ofenterprise-wide data quality standards, monitoring, and remediation processes, • Implement data observability capabilities to proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve data issues across pipelines and platforms, • Ensureconsumersof datacan trust the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of enterprise data assets, • Own and lead the enterprisedata governance function,establishingstandards, policies, and controls that ensure data is trusted, consistent,secure, and audit-ready across the organization., • Define and enforce enterprise data standards, including naming conventions, data definitions, metadata, lineage, and lifecycle management across the medallion architecture., • Embed data governance into engineering workflows, including pipeline design, data quality rules, observability, access controls, and semantic modeling., • Own the technical implementation and administration of Looker, includingLookMLdevelopment, modeling standards, and performance optimization, • Ensure data models and semantic layers aredesigned to support both internal decision-making, newdataproduct development,and external customer-facing analyticsand reporting, • Collaborate with the VP ofEnterprise Analyticsand Data Solutionstoalign technical data assets with analytics, reporting, insight, and product needs Basic Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as computer science, data science, statistics, business administration, ora relateddiscipline., • 12+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, data platform, or data architecture roles,with at least 5 years in a leadership role., • Proven experience designing andoperatinglarge-scale, cloud-baseddata platforms, preferably on Google Cloud Platform, • Deepexpertisein modern data architectures, including medallion/Lakehousepatterns, dimensional modeling, and semantic layers, • Strong experience with data quality, data observability, and production data operations, • Hands-on experience implementing andmanagingLooker, includingLookMLand governed analytics models, • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through complex enterprise data transformations, • Master's degreee.g., MBA or MSin a relevant field, • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, financial services, or other highly regulated, data-intensive industries, • Familiaritywith Tableau in addition to Looker in multi-tool analytics environments, • Experience supporting analytics, AI, advanced data science, and commercial data product use cases at scale, • Background in building data platforms that support external customer-facing products and insights Surescripts embraces flexibility through its Flexible Hybrid Work model for most positions. At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $266,200 - $325,400 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
