Job DescriptionBenefits: • 401(k) matching, • Dental insurance Responsibilities - Medical Assisting • Front desk protocols and patient satisfaction., • Experience understanding patient insurance intake and processing., • Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam, • Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients, • Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner, • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure, • Draw blood and preparation labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing, • Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions, • Respond to all lab messages and call back requests, • Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations, • Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure, • Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis, • Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures, • Maintain complete and accurate documentation, • Other duties and responsibilities as assignedResponsibilities - Cross Trained Medical Receptionist, • Prepare the clinic for opening each day by reviewing the facility, opening all systems applications, and preparing new patient registration packets and required documents, • Greet patients, provide patients with initial paperwork and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards, • Register patients, update patient records, verify insurance accurately and timely, and check patients out, • Determine, collect, and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues, • Respond promptly to customer needs, provide excellent customer service, assist patients with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests, • Balance daily patient charges (cash, check, credit cards) against system reports, • Complete closing procedures by preparing closing documentation and submitting required reports, • Complete cash control procedures and secure financial assets, • Maintain complete and accurate documentation Company Overview American Family Care (AFC) is one of the largest primary and urgent care companies in the U.S. providing services seven days a week on a walk-in basis.
