Join our healthcare team in Georgetown and experience one of the top nursing jobs in the DC area while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.\n \n\nPCU RN Job Details\n\n • Location: Washington, DC 20007 (Georgetown – top DC healthcare jobs)\n, • Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital\n, • Unit: ED Boarder - IMC RN (Progressive Care Unit)\n, • Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026, End: 4/6/2026)\n, • Shift: Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week (19:00 - 07:30)\n, • Hours: 36 per week\n, • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend\n, • Float Requirement: Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity\n, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1610 - $1730\n\n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n\n, • Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, IMC, or Stepdown RN experience\n, • At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment (travel nurse jobs preferred)\n, • Active DC RN license (pending license accepted with proof; must be in hand prior to start)\n, • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS\n, • Proficiency with Cerner charting system\n, • Clinical skills: MS/Tele, Telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, insulin drip titration, feeding tube care, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure, isolation precautions\n, • Preferred: Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience\n, • COVID-19 patient care required\n, • Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)\n, • Two supervisor references required\n\n\nPCU Nurse Responsibilities\n\n, • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients boarding in the Emergency Department (ED) awaiting inpatient bed placement\n, • Manage a patient ratio of 1:4-5, caring for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses (neurology/stroke, orthopedics, oncology, transplant, end stage liver/kidney disease, gastroenterology)\n, • Utilize Cerner for electronic charting and Pyxis for medication management\n, • Perform advanced nursing procedures: telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, insulin drip titration, feeding tube management, pre/post hemodialysis care\n, • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services\n, • Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed\n GHR Healthcare Job ID #436879.
