Location: Remote and 1550 7th St NW Suite C, Washington, DC 20001 Job Description The Role As a Studio Manager (SM), you will foster a dynamic yoga community by including leading studio operations within UDYC, creating a positive in-studio yoga experience (clean and safe) for students and staff, and supporting yoga instructors. Your leadership sets the tone for the studio’s culture and consistently reflects trust in our future, a commitment to growth, and full team activation. You will work alongside the Owner to deliver results and sustained growth towards all company and studio-level goals. Manage Health and Safety * Train and lead current and future UDYC front desk personnel in appropriate opening, closing, and class presence protocols to meet standards of excellence, health, and safety. * Work with Owner to maintain an appropriate level of studio supplies so that all provisions and amenities are available for students and staff at all times. * Take ownership in the functionality of the studio and the physical space, and act as a liaison between students and the Owner, as needs arise. * Develop and implement systems to reduce waste and automate supply tracking/ordering. Support the Studio Team * Communicate all UDYC policies, initiatives, and protocols for staff members through the lens of UDYC values and position policies. * Train, develop, and provide routine feedback to Front Desk staff. * Take full ownership of Front Desk hiring, onboarding/training, and termination processes. * Design and execute a scalable training program (including pre-recorded modules). * Oversee operations of the Front Desk staff substitute coordination schedule. Support pre-planned time off, absences, and substitutions with weekly management and team outreach. * Oversee operations of the Instructor staff substitute coordination schedule. Support pre-planned time off, absences, and substitutions with weekly management and team outreach. * Elevate opportunities for staff engagement to the Owner (e.g., desired activities, classes, training, etc.). Enhance and Maintain the Studio Presence * Commit to the weekly tasks, as arranged with the Owner. * Commit to the weekly hours, as arranged with the Owner. Note the expectation that some weeks may flex higher in hours, some less. This requires flexibility in service of the studio, when needed. * Support front desk operations, as arranged with the Owner. * Support training and facilitation, as needed, of UDYC programming and continuing education. Grow the Business * Partner with the Owner in synchronization meetings to share updates, set studio goals, and collaborate on progress. * Provide solution-oriented feedback to the Owner to enhance the customer experience and overall success of the company without judgment, fear, or blame. * Lead the social media presence (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Yelp, Google, website, Canva, Mindbody branded web app) with attention to staff developments/successes, student developments/success, UDYC events. * Promote and lead the retail business within the studio including achieving sales goals, merchandising new items, executing markdowns and sales, and maintaining service excellence at all times. * Consistently develop and retain a value-driven studio team to support a growing business and talent pipeline. Skills and Experience * Must demonstrate UDYC values: Community, Energy, Everyone * Excellent oral communication skills, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills * Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can prioritize while working under multiple deadlines * Minimum of 1 year in customer service-oriented role required * Familiar and comfortable in studio systems such as point of sale systems, company scheduling and payroll systems, etc. * Ability to build relationships with individuals with diverse personalities and styles and at different levels of seniority * Proven self-starter with ability to take on new projects with enthusiasm * Proficiency in Google Suite, Mindbody, Social Media platforms, and Canva * Experience in delivering actionable and supportive feedback for improvement to a variety of team members * Ability to move around the studio space, crouch, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. Additional Preferred Skills and Experience * Certificate of completion from an in-person 200-hour registered yoga teacher training * Current CPR/AED certification required * Ability to lead students in physical activity for a maximum 1.5 hours at a time * Ability to withstand exposure to heat of approximately 85 degrees for 60 mins Fine Print * Availability: Must match the needs of the business and leadership zig-zag schedules – morning, evening, weekend, and some holiday availability and flexibility required. Must be able to step in to teach any class format with little to no notice. * Attire: We recommend wearing breathable clothing that allows you to feel your most comfortable self.
