Position Summary: The Residential Education Coordinator at Westminster University is a twelve-month, full-time, live-in, professional staff member of Residence Life. The position reports directly to the Director of Residence Life & Student Dinning and is a member of the Division of Student Affairs. The Residential Education Coordinator position is assigned a 40 hour per week schedule. The schedule may fluctuate depending on the needs of standard operations, such as opening and closing residence halls. The Coordinator is required to live on campus in a semi-furnished apartment in a residence hall. The Coordinator is provided non-taxable staff housing, which includes utilities and internet. Cost-free campus parking and campus dining Flex Dollars are also provided. With direction provided by the department Director, the Residential Education Coordinator shall have the following responsibilities. Responsibilities: Supervision and Talent Development • Assist with the selection and supervision of Community Leader staff., • Co-lead a comprehensive training and education for Community Leaders regarding institutional operations, processes, and policies, • Execute a comprehensive evaluation of Community Leaders which includes performance evaluations, and development of performance improvement plans when necessary., • Assist the Director in identifying relevant and current scholarly theories, best practices, and student development models to inform on going paraprofessional development of Community Leaders and student staff., • Recruit and mentor interested student employees and leaders interested in the professional field of student affairs and higher education., • Assist Residence Life in the coordination of the daily operations, such as administrative, maintenance, custodial, programming, and community standards responsibilities fortwo-three residential communities., • Support the Associate Director on the operational processes including ongoing facility requests and access requests., • Assist the Associate Director in the management of keys for residential facilities., • Maintain an operational budget for educational and social programming and approve associated expenditures in accordance with purchasing guidelines., • Assist the administration of Persona and eRezlife software systems., • Assist in the coordination of move-in and move-out processes including residence hall openings and closings., • Assist the Director and Associate Director in making improvements to the department’s website., • Assist the Director in hosting virtual education sessions on residential education and benefits to prospective students and parents, and current students and parents., • Co-facilitate across-campus department engagement within first-year communities to enhance active programing specific to student wellbeing, safety, security, and campus resources., • Create and nurture inclusive, healthy, and safe communities in residence halls., • Coordinate residential programming of Community Leaders., • Develop positive and productive working relationships with departmental colleagues and campus partners including Dining Services and Campus Patrol., • Assist in the full implementation of the residence life curriculum to better enhance programming efforts and community development., • Assist the Director to implement formative and summative assessment plans to make data-informed program decisions., • Respond to emergency situations of residential students and implement protocols to resolve on-site threats to student safety and wellbeing., • Assess harm and risk related to student wellbeing, safety, and facility fidelity. Initiate emergency procedures with Campus Security, first responders, and senior administrators as applicable., • Provide post-crisis referrals to campus resources., • Work collaboratively with Safe UT and TimelyCare in cases of residential student threat to self or others., • Work cooperatively with Campus Security, Salt Lake City emergency services., • Assist in maintaining health, fire, and safety standards in residence halls., • Assist students and other parties in understanding and applying policy ., • Serve as a campus educator of community standards, the Code of Student Conduct, and resources available including Concerning Student Behavior Form and Title IX reporting., • Respond to and process incident reports submitted by Community Leaders, Campus Patrol, and students to determine appropriate level of adjudication., • Maintain regular office hours; evening and weekend hours sometimes required., • Assist with summer camps/conferences., • Assist with INTR 200 Exploring Student Leadership(Community Leader)course, typically each fall semester., • Designated as essential personnel in event of campus closure or emergency., • Serve as a Campus Security Authority and Mandatory Reporter., • Data management, facility management, assessment, and reporting., • Promote an Inclusive Westminster through demonstration of the commitments included in the Westminster University Diversity Statement., • Participate in developmental activities to increase understanding and awareness of issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion both individually and as related to my field of work, profession, or discipline. Minimum Qualifications: • Master’s degree in College Student Personnel/Higher Education Administration or related degree from an accredited college or university., • Demonstrated two years of graduate assistantship experience in student development, student affairs, and/or a related field., • Demonstrated experience working with college students., • Demonstrated experience in supervision and team building., • Demonstrated experience in administration, problem-solving, and crisis or emergency response., • Experience working with residential populations in graduate school., • Extended hours, including evenings and weekends will be required., • Ability to respond on-callas assigned, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays is required., • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch required. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds required.
