Job Description Job Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description This Maintenance Technician role supports an industrial metal manufacturing facility by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on production machinery and building systems. You will work with heavy equipment, cranes, and mechanical systems, as well as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC infrastructure, to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable operation across the entire facility. Responsibilities • Perform preventative maintenance on metal manufacturing machines, including lubrication, inspection of components, and verification of proper functionality., • Troubleshoot and repair metal manufacturing equipment, heavy machinery, and related mechanical systems to minimize downtime., • Utilize computerized diagnostic tools to assess crane condition, identify problems, and determine appropriate repairs., • Service and repair cranes and crane components, including sprockets, chains, motors, and other moving parts., • Replace worn or damaged parts and perform necessary repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently., • Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all maintenance, inspections, and repair work performed., • Adhere to strict safety protocols and ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with facility procedures., • Identify and resolve issues with building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other mechanical systems., • Perform building and facilities maintenance tasks such as patching, painting, and replacing hardware throughout the facility., • Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including fixtures, pipes, and drainage systems., • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and other electrical components., • Conduct routine inspections of building infrastructure and equipment to detect potential issues before they lead to failures., • Respond to maintenance emergencies and equipment breakdowns in a timely and effective manner., • Work in both shop and field settings as needed to support the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of buildings and their infrastructure., • Hands-on experience with industrial machine maintenance and repair in a manufacturing or heavy equipment environment., • Strong mechanical aptitude, including experience working with motors, sprockets, chains, and other mechanical components., • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and related electrical components., • Experience with plumbing maintenance and repair, including fixtures, pipes, and drainage systems., • Facilities maintenance experience covering building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building repairs., • Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts, inspecting components, and verifying safe operation., • Experience working with cranes and crane service, including inspection, maintenance, and repair., • Ability to use computerized diagnostic tools to assess equipment condition and identify issues., • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to strict safety protocols in an industrial environment., • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation of work performed., • Experience as a building maintenance technician or facilities mechanic supporting industrial or commercial buildings., • Maintaining and repairing heavy machinery used in manufacturing or similar operations., • Familiarity with boom lifts and other industrial access equipment used for maintenance tasks., • Comfort working in both shop and field environments to support equipment and facility upkeep., • Willingness to complete an initial training period on 1st shift (5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) followed by transition to 2nd shift (1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.). Work Environment This role is based in an industrial metal manufacturing facility that combines shop and field work in a dynamic, hands-on setting. You will work around heavy equipment, cranes, and complex building systems, using tools and computerized diagnostic equipment to maintain and repair machinery and infrastructure. The position includes an initial 3-month training period on 1st shift (5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.), after which the schedule moves to 2nd shift (1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.). Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Carson, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
