Job Description General Purpose: The Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing complex construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to guide project teams, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive successful project outcomes. The Project Manager plays a key role in maintaining client relationships, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization. Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in civil transportation or public works electrical construction, • Experience managing projects exceeding $10M, • Strong ability to interpret project documentation independently, • Detail-oriented with strong estimation and takeoff skills, • Proficient in MS Office, Project, Accubid, HeavyBid, Foundation, and Bluebeam, • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, • Capable of working effectively across diverse teams and cultures, • Able to adapt in a dynamic and evolving work environment, • Develop detailed project plans including milestones, timelines, and budgets, • Manage project progress, taking corrective actions as necessary, • Monitor subcontractor performance and provide technical guidance as needed, • Maintain project-related documents: drawings, plans, contracts, and records, • Identify and manage project risks with appropriate mitigation strategies, • Review and approve proposals, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules, • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant electrical codes and regulations, • Foster relationships with trade vendors, partners, and clients, • Provide mentorship and uphold high standards of professionalism and accountability, • Manage multiple projects at various stages concurrently, • Interpret drawings/specs and provide feedback to team members, • Communicate effectively in both oral and written formats, • Administer construction contracts and monitor jobsite compliance, • Support client retention and business development efforts, • Prepare estimates, proposals, and scopes of work, • Supervise professional staff and manage project priorities, • Plan project timelines and coordinate resources to meet deadlines, • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and manage changes, • Implement company safety policies and oversee material procurement, • Ensure compliance with the Company’s Alcohol and Drug-Free Policy, • Maintain valid driver’s license and reliable attendance, • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach, • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, • Must frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs, occasionally up to 25 lbs, • Frequent exposure to construction site conditions: airborne particles, mechanical parts, vibrations, • Occasional exposure to extreme weather and loud noise levels, • Competitive salary and benefits package., • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement. · Comet Electric is committed to equal employment opportunity and affirmative action.
