Position Summary: The QA/QC Manager leads inspection and quality control activities to ensure incoming, in-process, and final product quality meets customer specifications and internal standards. This role oversees inspectors, NDT personnel, calibration compliance, nonconformance control, corrective action processes, and quality documentation while promoting defect prevention, containment, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. \n Essential Functions: \n\n • Manage QA/QC inspection operations, staffing, and scheduling to support production flow and customer commitments.\n, • Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities, including use of gages, measurement techniques, and required documentation.\n, • Lead nonconformance containment efforts, including identification, segregation, disposition coordination, and corrective action support.\n, • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action processes using structured problem-solving tools.\n, • Oversee NDT activities and ensure compliance with applicable procedures and customer requirements.\n, • Maintain calibration compliance and coordinate calibration activities with the Calibration Technician.\n, • Maintain quality records, traceability, document control, and required QMS documentation.\n, • Provide accurate, timely reporting of FPY, escapes, scrap/rework, audit outcomes, and other key quality indicators.\n, • Train, qualify, and coach inspectors on procedures, measurement techniques, documentation, and safety practices.\n, • Proficiency in inspection methods, gage selection, and interpretation of engineering drawings.\n, • Strong understanding of quality systems, nonconformance control, and corrective action methodologies.\n\n\n, • Ability to lead investigations, communicate findings, and reinforce prevention-oriented improvements.\n, • Knowledge of QMS requirements, documentation standards, and audit practices.\n, • Effective leadership skills with the ability to train, develop, and evaluate inspection personnel.\n, • Strong communication, documentation discipline, and cross-functional coordination skills.\n, • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support production and customer requirements.\n, • Familiarity with SPC, MSA, and other advanced quality tools preferred.\n, • Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing quality.\n, • 5+ years of QA/QC experience with supervisory or leadership responsibility.\n, • Experience with inspection planning, gage use, calibration, and corrective action systems.\n, • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.\n, • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.\n, • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.\n, • Quality of customer complaint response and issue containment\n, • Internal defect trends and effectiveness of nonconformance control\n, • Reduction of escapes through improved inspection and verification\n, • Timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of quality documentation and records\n, • Audit readiness and closure of audit findings\n, • Effectiveness of corrective actions and root cause analysis\n, • Calibration and NDT process compliance\n, • Training and qualification effectiveness for QC and NDT personnel\n, • Ability to support production flow without compromising inspection discipline\n, • Strengthen containment and nonconformance control by improving defect identification, documentation, and communication across Operations and Engineering.\n, • Improve inspection effectiveness through enhanced training, consistent measurement techniques, and accuracy of inspection records.\n, • Support reduction of quality escapes by reinforcing final inspection discipline and improving process verification steps.\n, • Enhance corrective action performance by improving problem-solving consistency, follow-through, and verification of effectiveness.\n, • Improve audit readiness by maintaining complete, accurate records and supporting closure of findings through cross-functional collaboration.\n, • Strengthen calibration and NDT compliance by improving coordination, documentation accuracy, and adherence to required procedures.\n, • Support operational flow by improving prioritization, resource planning, and communication within QC teams.\n, • Develop inspector capability by providing structured coaching, qualification oversight, and reinforcement of quality standards.\n
